Doesn't Jaguar have some fancy bracelet thingy that kind of looks like a fitbit?  How come that didn't make the list.  I'd find that to be about as useful as the key card idea.

They do, as does BMW now.

I'm going to add a note to the article.

My fav was the Lexus credit card key. Thin enough to fit in your wallet. Never a need to remove it. Bonus: had a real key in it in case battery ever died. Very nice, slick design done right.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Hmmmm...picking keys from a bowl....I would carefully see who parks the vehicle.  That how I would choose my "key fob"

From the list I'd take the Volvo one.

One nice thing about a key , you can alway hide a spare key somewhere just in case you lose or lock your keys inside the truck  :-[
you can't lock a smart key in the truck...the car knows when the key is in the vehicle and won't let you "lock your keys in the car"...but yes, you could still lose it.

when the battery died in my Rio5 fob (all lower case now, you guys happy?  :P  ), i simply removed the physical key that is hidden within the fob itself (similar to how VW does it), opened my door, and held the fob to the start button and pressed start (it can somehow sense it that way)...i think went to the Kia dealer on the way to work (hoping the issue with the fob was simply a dead batter)...new battery for $3 and good as new.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

The Volvo one would look at home in a classy modern furniture store.

The others are all a bit too edgy for me. The Mercedes one looks like a Phaser from TNG....

I know those fancy bracelets would be stupid expensive to fix/replace, but if I could get one for my X1 I'd be tempted to.
Now if they could also include the door lock on my house-that would be awesome.
Maybe someday.

I've never found unlocking my house a big physical challenge.

I have an attached garage. But I still use the front door. I don't always pull into the garage.

I have an attached garage, but come spring, I leave my car in the driveway.  I usually come in through the man door in the garage, because inside the mud room is where the boot rack and coat rack is.

Not everyone has a garage.....trudging up a couple flights of stairs with hands full, just to put everything down to unlock the door gets annoying sometimes.

I am too poor to afford a double garage in Toronto proper.

these fobs are all getting pretty darn crazy... cool, but crazy. we have been having issues with some of ours in areas with strong wifi... seems to make the car think a key might be near and puts everything in a ready position... if you leave your car parked there for a few days, it will keep turning on minor accessories and eventually it will kill your battery... and sometimes won't recognize that the fob is in fact the correct one. really annoying.

also, with regards to the hellcat... the valet mode is actually set through the center screen... you have the red key rated at 707hp... the black key at 500... and valet mode from either key (programmed with a pin code) at 300.

Aston Martin's crystal key was kind of cool.

I only use the garage door when talking the dog for a walk! Garage door goes to the laundry room & mud room.  When I come in by myself, I go through the front door, and the kids come running down the hallway to come and see me.
