I really like what they've done here...that interior actually looks great...functional, capable and still has all the "Jeepness" to it.

About 34k for the base 2 door!  Thats it, jeep is dead to me.  It's pretty much a G-wagon now.

Really?  Wow.  They were $20K, then $24K, and now $34K?  Ouch.

no they aren't...they start at $27,945++...the increase over last year is $250...well worth it in my opinion...I really like the new one.

Hmm no! The article clearly says that the new base model is $34k.

Looks like some nice updates, especially the interior, but wow that pricing is getting crazy!  At the end of 2012 I bought a 13 Unlimited Sahara with a couple options like heated seats and Uconnect and it was $30,500 (I think MSRP was $35,500).  I just did a quick build for the same vehicle and it's pretty close to $50!  They're fun vehicles, I've owned 2 over the years, but I don't see myself spending THAT much for one.

I like the changes & updates... looks great, inside & out!! Like most have said though, the cost has gone up on these things... Jeep can move them & I guess it's driven by the demand. I think I'd have a hard time springing for another one at $50k... my 2014 Sahara Unlimited was $38k out the door, it was loaded with everything except leather.

I hate that the price has gone up so much over the last few years but really, you can't fault FCA for doing so. They're still selling a ton of them.

Supply and demand.....suppose its not really that out to lunch when you consider all those pretend SUV things being $50-60k. I would love one to replace ours...well, replace, get a new one as a year round convertible and the old can be my new trail toy  ;D

Wheelbase and storage space. The 2 door would need a wheelbase stretch to really be great offroad, the 4 door comes like that from the OEM

Guess you don't have any tight trails where a shorter wheelbase is better then. I know here when I used to off road with my Cherokee, they were tight & narrow trails, even the old XJ would have a hard time negotiating some because they were so tight.

Ahh, but with the advent of coils all around, its amazing how much wheel articulation can get you out of a sticky spot....plus if all else fails, thats what body armor is for  ;D

That starting price is for the 2018 Wrangler JK.  Looks like Jeep may be selling both JK and JL versions as 2018 models.
ah, i see now...i'm wondering if that's an error on the site??...i don't know why you'd have both JK and JL models...the JL is a substantial improvement over the JK.

That's what it comes down to. You can see why Marchionne keeps phasing out car production.

Buying Jeep was the smartest thing Chrysler ever did.

I just wish a proper car company would purchase Jeep, not some dodgy Italian one. I think the Jeep would be awesome with a GM 5.3 V8 under the hood  ;D

I never understood why Ford didn't bring back the off road Bronco sooner, and why GM didn't develop something.

Toyota gave it a shot with the FJ, but they buggered it up.

Apparently the 2020 Bronco will look something like the Troller (Ford Brazil subsidiary)

And they're expecting Dana solid axles front and rear.

We need someone to come in with a budget wrangler fighter, a new Sidekick/Tracker, Samurai or the like.
