Yes east of RDL you can rely on Hydro Quebec network of high speed chargers. Not as fast as the Tesla's but good enough. Click on the one that shows "45"

Swift Current is located in southern Saskatchewan and will provide a partial link between Calgary (active) and Winnipeg (coming soon). Saskatchewan currently has zero Tesla Superchargers.

As per Google Maps...

Calgary -> Swift Current = 516 kms
Swift Current -> Winnipeg = 816 kms

How far can you drive in a Tesla?

When you run out of range, you can call in the Tesla premium towing service and get them to drive you to the nearest station! Se awesome

So you are saying that Ford, the brand that sold 68k F150s in Canada and 352k in the US so far this year is TOAST!? Are we talking about the same brand?

One reason for this may be that the next generation Focus may incorporate a higher percentage of PHEV and EV models, and China requires local production for EV's to qualify for the generous local green incentives.

No, they learned this from automaking in general over the last couple of decades.  Car companies had started doing this long before Tesla was on the drawing board as a way to streamline production (and increase profit) by offering fewer total packages.  The downside is consumers have less choice and less personalization.  Even BMW, the champion of nearly unlimited 3 Series configuration has cut down tremendously on this tremendously.
