I count myself lucky that I got to drive a Ferrari at all. If others are as good as the 550 or better, wow they must be something...

But that's just it, I expect the computerized later versions of Ferraris will seem lacking in personality compared to that 550 -- which could certainly be considered a high-water mark for the company in many respects.  I'm very envious.

I've told the story here many times.

Had a friend with a 550 Maranello.  It was sidelined MONTHS at a time waiting for simple parts for (relatively simple) issues.  But it ALWAYS had issues.  And thus was almost always sidelined.

Sounded awesome when it was running and sure was nice to look at though!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I drove a 328 back when I had the 911 and wasn't really all that impressed.  It felt quick enough, handling was good, but the car was hella expensive and the fit/finish was SO lacking.  I've looked at many subsequent models and the same thing applied.  The engine bay was gorgeous and the interior and body panel fit felt like a kit car.  My Porsche felt like it should cost 2x as much, but was cheaper.

Absolutely agree!

in winter, and presumably still working

must be from another dimension, because that is impossible  :P

possibly one of the few Ferraris I would actually get, so nice. The other is:

Thanks to Gumball Rally

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Thanks to Miami Vice!

Fixed!!   ;D

It was traumatic when the car blew up!  They then went to a white Testarossa.

no, Gumball Rally. Miami Vice had nothing on Franco in his Daytona.

Apart from cars, Miami Vice had hot babes, modern pop music and powerboats.  Also, interesting guest appearances.

My vote is Miami Vice.  :)

Gumball said screw music, listen to a Ferrari V12 at full chat. Better soundtrack than any corny 80s tunes.

also they did have babes, like:

Jane, she drove a stick shift Porsche

Franco's Date, who drove a Merc. Also from Police Academy [admittedly, a boyhood crush]

Mrs. Hurst Shifter Herself aka Emergency Plan Alpha

The Gumball babes paled in comparison.  Miami Vice had 100+ episodes.  Some an endless stream of buxom extras!   :rofl2:

What was cool and unique about Miami Vice, which is unlikely to happen again, is you'd hear a hit song on the radio.....and then a few weeks later you'd hear it on Miami Vice.  Often, the song was #1 on the charts and playing on Miami Vice.

I wonder if anything like that could happen again??
