Hi
Found a local boxster S 2014. Price seems high for the 140k kms. Pdk, 19 inch tires, looks pretty good. I might go see it today but trying to get some opinions about buying a high mileage car and what to expect to have to replace in that near future.

Assuming it's the unit listed in the Trader (grey one), don't bring any money with you if you go and look at it.  The problem is that's it winter driven with high mileage for premium price.  Cool down period may be required before any money exchanges hand.  :D

Ok, today is the day to look at a serious contender. 2012 base with 60k kms.  Seems lean and well maintained, not winter driven and owner is upgrading to 2021 so I feel confident he took care of his 987.2 Wish me luck

Well it is a 2012 with clean past, no racing , base model ( more than enough), 19 inch tire 265 and 235 back and front, 60k kms. 2 little nicks on front and back bumpers, rest of the body is really in good shape. Owner is  an older gentleman who is buying a 2021 718 boxster [94k cad). We did transaction via Porsche Lauzon in Montréal.
Very tough to find a clean affordable one out there. Dealers are super firm on pricing and are not budging. 2.9L 6cyl 255 Hp, pdk  7 speed, paddle shifter.. it is really a fun car which I. Hope I will keep a while

Cool, congrats.
Now, will we be seeing you at the track next season?
How far are you away from Shannonville?   They have cheap evening sessions.

You really should give a track day a whirl!

He doesn't mean full on racing, just HPDE (high performance driving instruction).

Exactly, you don't have to drive like there's a timer running (although I usually do while at the track ;D)
You can push it as hard as you like in whatever corners you like, the track is a great place to learn and to enjoy your new car.

I mentioned Shannonville because it's not much of a commitment time and moneywise, you can drop in on the right evening and get a few laps in (with instruction if I'm there and you want it) for $40-60.    It's pretty low key and casual, the track is as slow and safe as it gets for real tracks IMO

Have you seen any of my videos of SMP lapping?
