Nope, no room for the rwd bits. The Golf was already terrific in the snow, so with the added weight of the battery I expect this one to be pretty stable in the white stuff.

Awesome buy! Premium product that barely costs more than the Prius Prime and Chevy Volt. 26km EV range is a little low for most big city commutes but would work just fine for us.

Looks like a neat vehicle. DSG only, I assume? I'd hate to give up my manual, but otherwise I could see one of these working well for us.

How do the sliding rings work for charging? Is it motorized or manual? Not sure I'd want to be grabbing the salty, dirty nose of the car all winter to expose the charging port.  :-\

Manual, and a bit flimsy to be honest.

That is a very neat little car....congratulations!

Given the current state of EV technology I think plug in hybrids are a great option if you live in a rebate province.

Awesome new ride.  Going to make up for all that polution you floated out the tailpipe of the previous VW.   :rofl2:

I'll definitely be interested in your take on this ownership experience.  Am I wrong to say this is basically a VW GTE with maybe a bit softer ride and an upgraded interior?

No, the GTE is basically this but with a stiffer ride and a downgraded interior.

Test drove one of these last fall -- LOVED IT!  As much fun to drive as the C30 -- same 0-100 time -- with two more doors.  :D

The disappearing touch screen is fantastic.
