^ yes, yes they are.  The units posted are reasonable compared to some ads.  Its really ridiculous.  But here I am, willing to pay the prices.

Maxima is out.  Buick looks a go notwithstanding the cost.

Of that set, Lucerne would be my pick. It's a shared platform with the DTS, but without all the Cadillac frills, and with a V6 (N* was available in some of the top trim Lucerne's). I've never driven one, but I imagine it would be a nice cruiser, and with the 3.9L and the old 4-speed should be really reliable.

Those prices are horrendous though....

I'd pick the Buick out of that bunch also.  Seem to be decently reliable if properly maintained.  Might not be the most fuel efficient but that's not the end of the world.

Avoid the Maxima. Nissan's earliest CVT's were time bombs, especially on a V6.

Buick gets my vote too - clean, well-maintained older car with a solid base and not beaten up for decades. Won't get 6 l/100 km though!

Somebody on my street still had a similar Focus up until recently - a real one with swiss cheese rockers. They swapped it for a new Soul EV.

I know used car prices are high, but I am surprised by how many of you are surprised by the surprisingly high prices  :P.  I know, it's brutal.

What I'm reading... grab the Maxima  :rofl2:

Also found a 2010 Buick Allure CXL that looks decent.  3.0V6.  Anyone know anything about that engine?

SGI had an initial look at the car, said they weren't expecting that much damage from a deer, and that the car appears very well taken care of.  I'm thinking, just give me the cheque for 5k buddy.  I honestly expect the initial offer to be about $2500, but with the recent work and upgraded wheels/tires, this thing would sell for 5k.  We'll see what happens.

I for one am not surprised at the current used car market, since I've been browsing listings since my last CEL  :rofl2:

Deals are rare, but if there are some to be made, they are exactly Buick-shaped. Older, full-size domestics lightly driven and well-maintanined by Boomer owners.

Hang on if you can. Car prices will soon roll over. The US auto loan market looks like the 2007/2008 real estate market.

Sask has always been overpriced in the used market. Must be the relative isolation from large markets.

Hence my "very brave" comment!

The Astro is an estate sale for less than $5k, but a beige-on-beige van is not the coolest thing for a young guy!

Those pickups are cool, but lets keep in mind SK winters and -40 temps.  He needs something reliable.  I like the van, and he may also, but fuel economy will be abysmal and rear wheel drive only in that format will "suck balls" as Junior would say.

Not much listed under $10k and crazy mileage on these prairie listings! If you look at the pics of the 4Runner, there's a to-do list from the seller's mechanic.

Doesn't appear Autotrader has much listings anymore.  Kijiji and Marketplace seem to be the leaders.  But I do appreciate the postings.  Between Junior and Mrs.BC  we are looking through a lot of postings every day, that's for sure.

Search engine on Marketplace is just terrible though.
