Yeah, that thing manages to be an insult to Muranos, convertibles and crossovers all in one shot. and now i finally get to use the hurl icon...  :hurl:

Most appropriate use of the icon, I have to say.

It was a great model for the time, but the Murano ship has sailed.

It was a great model for the time, but the Murano ship has sailed.

03, 04, 05, have faulty exhaust manifold flange and will fail.  Job is about 1K tax in.  06 up have different part, but still questionable.

If the Seals on the AWD start leaking, SELL or trade ASAP.  The transmission needs to be removed and it is a huge job.

You sell any droptop Muranos??

Didn't Nissan also (had to) offer a special extended coverage on CVT transmissions?

Indeed. It was truly an innovative vehicle (first generation) but it has become pretty much obsolete in today's competitive world.

Like so many others, I can't understand Nissan strategy of sticking with CVT transmissions. Even what used to be its #1 argument, fuel economy, makes the vehicle look bad now (EPA figures): Murano AWD 18/23 mpg, Edge 3.5L AWD 18/25 mpg, Santa Fe 3.5L AWD 20/26 mpg.

Works well on small displacement motors.

You're assuming all things equal.  The Nissan V6 step above those other two.  PPL who agonize over gas prices don't shop Muranos.

I believe they were offering 10yr warranties after problems began to crop up with the CVT on early model years. As I recall they ended the extended warranty a couple of years ago.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Not trying to bust your chops or anything AS but how is the Nissan V6 a "step above"? I drove an Edge and a Murano back to back and would have picked the Edge for having very slightly better power, throttle response and smoothness.....It had a slight edge  ;)

Are you talking things like quality, reliabilty and longevity?
