Posting this for a friend, I figured someone on here might be interested, or know someone.
 
2003 BMW 540i M Sport package
4.4l V8, 290hp, 324 ft-lbs of torque
6 speed manual
125,000 km
Extra set of BMW alloy rims with winter tires included
 
Excellent Condition, well maintained.  The car was purchased brand new by the owner's father.  No accidents.  New pads and rotors a year ago, new radiator about a year and a half ago.
 
Asking price $10,000

Whoah boy, that's a beauty. I'd say GLWS but at that price and mileage, I don't think he needs it  8)

Me too. Wanted one for the longest time, especially when they dropped down to the $15k mark a few years back. My buddy's dad had a black one with some Dinan parts. In hindsight I should have snapped it up when he traded it on an A8.

Wow, nice!

Co-worker had one of these a few years ago and I got to take it on a brief drive. Clutch take-up point seemed odd, but I'm sure you'd get used to it.

Old-school, N/A V8 and a stick - I want one! $10k even seems sort of reasonable.  :-\

This is a great car!! I remember cruising down the 407 doing a buck forty when one of these went screaming by me doing at least a buck eighty!! What a sound!

Nice looking car and probably the best looking BMW sedan made to date, imo anyways.  I have a coworker in Halifax who owns two of these, and both 2003s i believe.  One is his summer dd, the other is a future project car.  He's had good luck thus far with his, but i think he's only on his second year. 

Funny how this was their mid-size car back then, but looks like it's much smaller than the modern 3 series.

From what I've read it's pretty much the following that are the main trouble spots with this gen:
-Shocks
-Cooling system
-Fluids changed (BMW uses Lifetime=garbage)
-Misc little electrical gremlins
-Valve and intake gaskets

Apparently the cooling system like to take a dump around 140k kms. Not sure what the current owner has done to the car already though.

So 55K km in 9 years would lead one to believe that this car was not winter driven.  Did the dad spend the winters some place else I wonder.  The only concern I would have with this car is if it was exposed to salt for 13 years without a treatment like Krown.  It will sell.

Ad says the radiator was replaced a year and a half ago.  That may have taken care of the cooling system problems...
