Remind's me of my brother in law's rental grade F-150. It's an XLT, but the very basic one. No thanks.

I am always amazed at how basic they are considering the price. Like you have to add a $6,000 package on an XLT just to get heated seats for example.

I've been slumming it for years.  I'll take the rental grade for 20k discount for my truck.  Its not the primary family hauler, so its fine.  I won't take a Ram though so in reality its not an option.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

All the work trucks I've spent time in are low bid specials. Rubber floors, cloth seats, etc, no biggie.

Everything now is air/tilt/cruise/pl/pw

What would be useful is if Ram or Ford would put a tiny bit of time into perfecting the mechanicals of these older drivetrains

For 2024 the package that includes heated seats on the XLT is "only" $4k.

I've been in a base Tundra.

It's not the same as this base truck. Not even close.
