Umm... That's not a Ford Mustang concept. That's literally an Aston Martin DBS with a Ford grille photoshopped on. It even says DBS on the seats  :rofl2:

Nice catch!

Yeah, the Evos was a Ford concept, but I'm not sure it would work as a Mustang.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Yea...I grabbed the wrong screen grab.   :banghead:

Either way....would prefer something closer to EVOS.

If Ford made a Mustang like that I would have one in my garage.

Yep...or at least you'd VERY strongly consider it.  With the retro one?  Not so much.

While I agree that the Evos was a great looking concept, I don't think the Mustang should look like it....they would lose all the sales of the traditionalist Ford owners. Though if the Evos came to market as a Probe or Thunderbird........

Dude..those "traditional" owners are in their 70s now.  They need to get a younger crowd interested.

There are lots of young people interested in the Mustang, the problem lies with them not being able to afford the vehicle. If they go too Euro, people will complain that they are a sellout, "not 'Murican enough" and such non sense. I still like the 68 fastback, Bullit car, if they were trying for oldschool, thats the one to go for. I don't know, I do not mind the looks of the new one at all. I think there is enough retro and modern styling touches to keep the vast majority of fans happy.

Is it the cost of the vehicle or the cost of the insurance for these young'uns ?

Bingo!. Most potential Mustang buyers are living in their parents basement making $15/hr. Ford needs to follow the money.

Both...insurance for a male under 25 these days is the GNP of Sub-Saharan Africa and with no jobs, buying a sweet, $40k is a pipe dream.

I think it is a very safe revision. They were not reaching at all. The version that rocket showed would have been much nicer. Almost Fox like reboot of the Mustang is what would have been called for. An opportunity lost, if you ask me.

All that being said, I'm sure it is a very nice car. The last one was a blast, so why wouldn't this one be.

I think their big risk is the next gen Camaro. The Camaro has pretty well always outsold the last gen Mustang. The next one is Supposedly 400 lbs lighter then the current generation, and the Chevy guys have certainly figured out how to make a Camaro handle. Should be interesting.

Hopefully they'll make one you can see out of...  :-\

Couple of newer videos.
http://youtu.be/niNQxUvKNmk

I guess the 4 banger needs some mods...
http://youtu.be/K5X9sUIbwoQ?t=2m1s

And maybe the V8 too...I hope someone does a track comparison (turns not just straights) old vs new.
http://youtu.be/qDzQsXdnqyo?t=2m51s

If...I'll have mine with the V8 please.  No other option to consider.
Not to be a debbie downer, but those drag races were done with 87 octane...sh!tty US-spec 87 octane with boatloads (10%) of ethanol.

Or do we think 91-92 octane would make the EB that much faster? Wouldn't it have some effect on the reg ol' 6 than too? (not likely eh).
I think gas quality can have a huge impact based on how an engine is tuned.  Depends on how well the ECU is programmed, but still.
