Just kidding. Based on my test ride of the XSR 900, I'm not ready to own something that weighs less than 5 lb per HP.

Saw one today on my ride. I thought "ohohoh that's the Superduke !!!"

A lot of out-of-province/state tags. Reminder of how people travel from all over just to ride in the région.



My R3 found its big brother as well. Had a nice chat with the owner too. I still want a R1 someday......

Love the engine...but something about the looks leaves me flat.

As my conférence took place in a city with an Aprilia dealer, had to stop by and see.

Threw a leg over it, fits me so well. The frame is.....art. A few years off from that beauty but it's gorgeous.

Really? How do you feel about the looks of your Burgman then? No offense, but I'd take the XSR over a Burgman based solely on looks any day!

Burgman looks like a scooter..tough to get excited about it.   

On the other hand, I didn't spend $12K on it like you would on an XSR.

Ah, I see your point there, but like you, I wouldn't buy new. This is a bike that I'd be looking for on the used market in 2 to 4 years, when it's less than $12k.

It's less than $12k now.  There are a few very lightly used ones popping up now on Kijiji / Trader.  I've been very closely watching.  I spent a week on the FZ-10 followed by the XSR 900 and as great as the Fizz Ten is, it damned well should be for nearly $16k and all those R1 parts.  The XSR knocked my socks off though.  Love the looks, riding position and of course that sweet, sweet engine.

Street Triple R perhaps??   

I've been watching this Street Triple R for a few weeks to see if the price would drop more. It's a 1st gen one, but the ultra low mileage is VERY attractive! Tempted to offer $5k cash, lol!

Why are you waiting to ride? Did I miss something ?

You cannot get insurance in ontario unless you have your M2 and have taken the safety course.

Course was full until Sept 17/18.  I booked the course months ago now,  I'll get insurance on the 19th day after I finish the course.

Stupid, but way she goes.

Kind of sucks as I'll probably only get a few rides in before the snow flies in October.   And I'll have to pay for a year of insurance for nothing.

Either that or just wait till spring,  save the registration and insurance cost over the winter.

But would like to ride a few times this year at least.
