Hmmm, I think we ever got a long-term BRZ at Autos.ca, fist fights may break out over who gets to drive it.

Thanks for the quicky Grant. I disagree AB and I like how Grant used his past experiences and interest in cars and how it relates to his desire to put a BRZ in his driveway permanently. I do the same.

I've read on FRS forums that these cars are already experiencing lots of issues with rough idles, stalls and not running right in the first 2000 miles.  There is even talk of recalls.  I'd say if Subaru was responsible for tuning I wouldn't be too surprised as their tunes are horrible from facotory.  But I think Toyota was in charge of that dept.

Nice story about your childhood. I would like to read a little more about the car, however.
I'd never join a group that would have me as a member.

I wonder if those complaining about the flash back actually read the entire article....

Quote
By now, probably everything that can be said about the Subaru BRZ—and its step twin, the Scion FR-S—has probably been said. If you read even infrequently about sports cars, you’ve probably read more than you want about these new coupes. Even in our own pages (see the links below), we’ve published six (SIX!) articles on the BRZ and FR-S, not counting stories from our daily news files and the auto shows.

I'm good with it and it makes perfect sense when you real the whole thing. Been there done that and still do it.

Peter Egan of Road & Track Magazine has built a career on reminiscing about his days growing up. A fine writer he is too.  The BR-Z is a nice car. Have only seen one Toyota FR-S around these parts--Orange pearlcoat--and yes my head did turn.  Needs aftermarket pipes though as the exhaust note was pretty sedate.

just passed a white frs this morn actually... they really are a sharp looking car. i think i've only seen white in either of the models... i guess white is the new black.

and agree that when everything has already been written, you have to find a new way to say what you are thinking... go ahead and reminisce.

A half Toyota half Subaru, first application of DI on a Boxster completely new designed engine, first year model and first production run ..... all of these factors telling us the chance of having issue is extremely HIGH  ;D

But I doubt Toyota / Subaru will do much to fix all the issues as the cars are still selling like crazy .... whats the wait list on a BRZ?? half a year?

I will probably wait until 2014 before I will look into getting this.

Good review, the car is painfully good looking and I want one soooo bad. Problem is...THREE dogs, mountain bike, trips to the dump, think I'll be waiting for the new WRX!

I'm seeing them on the road now, and they make me think "GT-R lite."  It has the same purposeful look with a combination of esthetics and function, but biased towards the function end.

I think they look awesome, but I like the looks of the Scion better.....I know, its like liking a taurus more than a Sable, but the front end of the Scion is less busy.
Lighten up Francis.....

And unlike the Subaru, there's more than just 1 colour available on the Scion (grey, white and black don't count to me)
