I was excited & then saw it was an automatic, lol!! Would've been a great car for one of my kids at that price.

Good luck with the sale, it should move quickly.

I'd think $3,500 should be easy to reach.

Yea...I rarely get response when I post stuff on Trader.

Though you do have to weed out the "Will you take $500?" riff raff from Kijiji....

i agree, i could have possibly sold it for 500 more.  Had i fixed things maybe 1.5 to 2k more.  Honestly if we wouldn't have got the Lab we might have kept it.

It being a 10 year old FGC worried me. OK not worried me but made me think.
In addition to the existing problems (listed in the ad) every other part in the car was original (so 10 years old) oxygen sensors, suspension bits etc.
Tranny flud was never changed.
Rear shocks were more or less shot (front were done).
Stereo hissed a bit when car was parked (Indy could hear it, i could barely hear it, he said it would cause a strain on the battery, i was not so sure)
The key was not holding charge very well (apparently the battery was integrated into the key and there was no way to replace the battery without changing the key.
That year 3 series had FRM issues where the buffer would overflow and disable many things (seat, lights etc.) A new FRM was super expensive but there is a AD in kijiji where they will reprogram the FRM for $200
There was a apparent leak in the differential a couple of years ago that stopped on its own. Fixing it was going to be big $'s in labor as they had to lower the whole tailpipe (undo a lot of welds) if it came again.

So here were my potential expenses (DIY for things i could do myself). My indy is not cheap but he is not dealer $

Tow to dealer     $100
Brakes:             $600
Windshield         $300
Taillight:            $300
Key:                  $200
Battery:             $400
Rear shocks:      $900
FRM recoding     $200
Diff repair (if)  $1100

So $3000 or  $4100 to potentially get it in tip top condition plus the uncertainty of 10 yr old FGC parts. OFC i didn't have to do all if it to sell but would have done it if i were going to fix it. I was not sure if it was worth doing it.

Maybe i am trying to justify the sell now..lol.. maybe its a bit of sellers remorse.. but its done now.. cant do much about it now..lol
