33-34 km one way, 23-26 minutes (depending on speed or rush to get home, never rush to get to work...that's just dumb  :P).  So if I lose IQ points for my lengthy drive...does it accumulate over the number of years then too?  Because I've been driving this route since late '93 or '94 (see!  I can't even remember what year we moved here!  Oh no! It's already too late!  And my wife thinks I'm lucky to have the drive home so I can relax...when in fact...I'm just getting stupider!  So much of my life has just been explained............................................ :bang:)

by the looks of it, a lot of you would be great candidates for EVs/hybrids for your commute...

I've thought that...but then the cost to buy in would buy me 40 yrs worth of fuel in the Sonic, over the price of the Sonic...so as good as it sounds...it's not a financially smart investment...then again added all up...apparently I'm no longer smart...so I guess it wouldn't be much of a stretch to convince me...

:( guess I am the worst so far....about 50kms one way (60kms if I drop off Mrs.Firm) and that takes about 1.5 hours, one way. So min I am dealing with 3 hours a day in the car. Straight through the West GTA, so bumper to bumper traffic. Been doing it since 2010, it just normal now....

I could never do that.

I think I have the fastest average speed during my commute. 15 km, and it takes 12 minutes. Though I often take a slightly different route that's a few minutes longer because I prefer it.

9.2km each way, 13 minutes.  A quick daycare drop-off and I am sitting down at my desk about 20 minutes after leaving home.  I tend to leave after the morning rush (not that it is that terrible in Moncton), so there is little to no stop-and-go.

I am an expert and have the lowest iq.
Kitchener to downtown Toronto daily--eventually 8 passenger carpool vanpool--for many years.
But let's lay out benefits:
--Lower cost housing ( had no mortgage after ten years )
--Raised two great boys ( if I do say so myself ) in a smaller town environment ( not so today thou')
--Wife's hometown is Kitchener/Waterloo.  We both went to UW.
--Became extra disciplined at planning departure at 4 each day.
--Moved away from pooling into first of four Audis ( back then unlimited mileage on warranty )
--Skills build in anticipating others; in seeing farther ahead ( like motorcyclists -- had a Harley so I know);
in being a very smooth driver; in loving driving even now 20 years on a Pension; learned early to not tie the knot with Employer too strongly ( double dipped with additional 5&1/2 years with Competitor ).
--financially independent

Mine is ~11km to my parking spot & then a 5min walk after that. Mornings the drive is 10mins, evenings is usually 25mins, but I rarely go directly home.

My drive is approximately 110 KM round trip and takes me 35 to 45 minutes. My morning drive is faster as there are less cars on the road at 5:00 AM. My drive is very relaxing due to the scenery, doing this for the past 7 years and I just noticed that I became a very relaxed driver and always let others go and never get excited. My previous commute was Saskatoon to San Francisco for 4 years.

My commute was 27 km each way. 1993 through 2006.  Up the DVP/404 from Dundas to 16th ave in the am and back in the pm.   All that time it was consistently around 25 minutes in the morning but in the afternoon it went from 35 minutes to 50 minutes over that time with it often being 1 hr 20. And that is without rain, snow or crashes.
Bad traffic engineering where the 404  crossed the 401 southbound. 5 lanes into 3 with many people needing to change lanes immediately after the merge. Northbound not good design but better perhaps because fewer people used it.

my drive is 40km each way. most days it's about 30 minutes. probably twice a week that doubles to an hour and just sucks. many think i'm nuts due to so many options to do the "same thing" much closer... but in a car dealership atmosphere, no two are really "the same".

my drive gives me time to think... sometimes that is the worst thing to do and i end up venting to my car about my day and getting all riled up... my wife sees it as my "me" time.... while i would much rather being doing a multitude of other things, i guess it is time that i can't do my e-mails, talk to customers (refuse to call other than the "need anything hun?") so it is free of those responsibilities... but still... not fun times.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

10kms - usually takes 15 minutes by car. 30 minutes by bike. 90 minutes by bus. Probably faster to walk than bus but never tried.

Now I found this interesting as .. for myself, times are: biking = driving * 2 and walking = biking * 3  (or driving *6).  Its pretty consistent

Interesting to see that your bike/car ratio is the same as mine so I predict for you a 90 minute walk

9km each way.   12 min or so by car, 25 min by bike.

I could not be a downtown TO commuter.   Impossible.  I'd either live downtown or change jobs.

I have a large hill in the middle of mine that could throw off times on a bike for folks who are in less good shape but those multiples sound reasonable assuming no big traffic jams.

15 km, about 3/4-1 hr by bus/LRT, the same by e-bike, half that by car

In the winter the bike thing gets stretched out a bit with all the cold weather gear.

30 km each way about 30 mins to and from work.  I don't mind it because I don't get stuck in traffic.

Since school hit a few weeks ago my morning ride has been extended to closer to 2 hours, including a short detour to drop the wife off at her office. Painful is the only word
I think school has people leaving earlier though, because the evening ride is slightly lighter now, maybe 1hr15.

I got fed up of driving across TO on 401 (407 not a big time saver and much $$), so now I drive 5 mins to GO then about 1 hr n 40 Mins to stop and walk to work, about 2 hours one way. I go through about 2-3 books a week. Time consuming yes, no stress!

There's 3 of us in the truck in the mornings (my wife and brother commute in with me) so I am debating the idea of starting to use the 407, as ridiculously costly as it is. It'd cost about $8.50/day if I used it just for the morning. ..Or $160/month.
