that Stratos is pure amazing wow
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Yup, it's a rebodied Fiat Punto.  They're just a FWD compact car with a roadster body.  Dynamically, they're not even close to a Miata.

Chevy motor?  No wonder there's been a price drop.

I know, it should've been an LS... :stick:

Either way, probably a pretty fast car for the money. Probably sounds bitchin' too.

I agree, I even think they look pretty nice.  I'd take one if I could.  305 HP's alright.

yes, it has humble bones. But have you ever driven one? I have, it is a fun little thing that is light and chuckable, and the engine pulls hard for a little 1.8 and sounds fantastic. It is not a 10/10ths car by any means, I would not be tracking it - for the driving I threw at it on my test drive, it took it just fine and with gusto. I like it as a fun little cruising roadster to nip around some back roads.

Remember the Top Gear special? The Fiat beat the Mazda and the BMW.  ;D

One reason the Punto scored so low is that it doesn't has fasten seatbelt bongs for the rear seat and it has no anti-crash braking tech.  If it was based on pure structural performance, it would have earned 2 stars.  The car is seriously behind the times in Europe when it comes to safety features.

Check out the list.  Notice how Kia Stonic goes from 3 to 5 stars with the added safety pack.  The FIAT scores 0 for its safety asset (row under purple icon).

In case anyone missed the ridiculous comparison with the Fiat and Miata, it was uh, not a conventional test...

In this one, (also Top Gear) the MR2 and Miata soundly trounce the Fiat for driving dynamics.

good for them, they are better drivers sure

would not be buying a low powered cute little roadster for its absolute driving dynamics at the limit - not meant to be a track monster

Nice sunny day, zipping around on the back roads with the wife beside you...the little Fiat does just fine for that. It did just fine for Hammond - in his personal life as well as on the show in the Middle East test [where all 3 liked it most - they loved it, formed a bond with it, and also could not keep up with it on some winding roads]

Just like Top Gear, IMO the best car here...is the worst!  :rofl2:

I've always been quite fond of those SVT Cobras..

Good friend of my Dad in law has a 97 SVT Cobra sitting in his airplane hangar, has under 5000 km on it. He had some Ford salesman hornswaggle him into thinking it would triple in value in 10 years. There it sits, waiting to be worth more than he paid lol.

The only ones worth money are the chromacolour color changing paint ones...

That's freking hilarious! Back when I worked for a Ford dealer we had one, it was a 1996 iirc and was STILL there when I left there in early 2000. The car would have sold if it wasn't for that color. Everyone disliked it, guess that's why it wasn't offered for long. I thought it was neat, but wouldn't have been my first choice.
