^^^ one thing I love about the backcountry in the Canadian Rockies is that we don't have creep-crawly things.  No snakes or giant spiders or anything like that.   I see those survival shows where people are in the jungle and I think I'd lose my mind.  Oppressive heat (I can put a jacket on if it's cold, you can't get away from heat), lousy drinking water and slithering things galore.  Nope, nope, nope.

when you seal up all the windows and doors and screens in the house, and yet somehow a full grown Huntsman Spider is still able to get in somehow. Buggers are quick and hard to catch. He needs to do his hunting OUTSIDE not inside. More food out there for him. If I find that there are bugs in the house, I will invite him back in to ply his deadly trade. Until then...out.

Broke a tooth today, but was lucky to get into the dentist to have it repair within 3 hours
Have no idea what the cost is, it just gets sent to the insurance company to get paid 😀

heh...yeah. But I dont kill them because spiders, especially huntsman spiders down here, are actually very helpful. Like the wolf spiders back home, they are roaming predators that eat everything. They clean house. Have some Malaysian friends that used to name their huntsman spiders and let them stay in the house - because that meant that anything up to a mouse in size was dead. They also let the Tokay Geckos stay in the house too...those did the same thing, but also ate the huntsmen. Better them stay in the house than the alternative - venomous snakes.

But I totally understand the impulse to burn everything with fire.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

yes, that is how people usually react to big spiders  :rofl2:

me, I catch them in the tupperware bin, and throw them into the bush with the other spiders and the Blue Tongued Skink Family that would probably like a snack too.

Why does it always seem to be ridiculously windy on garbage day?

Snot-O-Grams, when a simple phone call will resolve the question.  As much as I enjoy social media, its ubiquity has made people shy away from normal human interaction in a business setting.  Pick up the goddamned phone!

Why does everything need a customer survey thesedays? Something as simple as visiting a car dealership or eye doctor yields an annoying phone call from some customer service department.

Sheesh, if I find something truly disappointing, I'll mention it upfront directly, or simply not visit again. A "follow-up survey" won't persuade me otherwise.

Well it depends on how often you go to the dealership.  Not mentioning any names, or threads.  But if you go 1-3 a year, and to get one short survey a year, wouldn't bother me.  The worst I find is, going to Home Depot 2-3 times a week in the busy season.  Fill out the survey online to win a prize!

This was for the Alfa Romeo test drive......for sales. Not even a service visit. I'd told them not to call my mobile, esp during work hours.

Service visits, I can understand. I get those all the time from Yamaha given the multiple recalls its had.

unfortunately sales have to be aggressive with anyone that walks into a dealership, especially if they had a test drive. We at GM were instructed to do a follow up call, even if they didnt want one, and then another after that - offering deals etc. If we did not call, we were asked why by management. Every customer who didnt buy was seen as a loss rather than every one who bought as a win. One reason I got out of that business and went back to school.

It's turned into a plague and it's costly waste of energy.
