Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

I haven't check the motor specs but it sounds a lot like now defunct Clarity, engine & electric motors configuration but without the plug & the big battery!
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

I think Clarity had a 1.5L engine, this is 2L, which should make it peppy, especially with the lower weight in mind. IIRC Honda Accord came with a 2L engine, could be the same exact one, including the motors.

It is.

The hybrid battery constantly charges as you drive automatically.

And you can charge the main EV battery with the push of a button when ICE is on.

E, I'm envisioning a 90's rave atmosphere, Honda insight achieved 70 miles per gallon. Nowadays, achieving 80 miles per gallon I think is good considered Honda Civic, E, is almost a mid-size car. The car is huge.

Which wouldn't surprise me, the insight were small and low down, remember is was also had a tiny 1.0 liter, I think. E, is decent when all things consider.

Oh I don't think there's anything wrong with the E.

You're correct, Clarity had a 1.5L engine The 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid Walkaround, Honda Canada Inc

I see them around occasionally. They look clumsy and bloated. Honda, discontinue them in 2021. I don't think most people could get on aboard with the looks. Honda, did have a a 1.3 hybrid Civic's too.

Just like with the Aztek, its looks have aged from "fugly" to quirky to interesting  :P

Good news for Canada: the Hybrid Civic Sedan will be made here. There is hope for competitive pricing as the main powertrain components will be manufactured in NA.
