You could buy a 1991 Tempo and I'd applaud your purchase based on this alone.  :P

Congrats!

So, the Genesis G70 is not just a target car but Genesis.ca have acknowledged a pre-order.
Here are some reasons:
a.) the character of the launch to me goes beyond marketing speak.  The only company to offer "at home"
experience has thought out respect for buyer's ownership experience.
b.) I have said I admire G80 & G90 strengths but from over 75 country visits so far I admire even more
bringing in some aesthetics from Korean culture/style in the G70 non Germanic way--a unique offering
and style language that speaks to me.  ( will be trading in my Audi A7 which is a wonderful car and creates
really no incentive to change from my 4th Audi, except I like idea of S. Korean authenticity-- which I already respect.
c.) maybe I will go RWD and give up AWD for something like the wonderful feel of my previous
Mazda RX8.
d.) I am excited by the balls of Hyundai to go after BMW 3 series and it is high time.

I'm kind of set on getting a ~'14 335i to replace the GTI at this point. Unfortunately I'm rather picky and what I want isn't common: A real colour, manual, and relatively loaded – and hopefully with reasonable kilometres and CPO warranty. Ultimately I want RWD too but those are super rare (only 16 2014s built for Canada with a manual). I'm partial to the M Performance edition which was offered in Valencia Orange and Laguna Seca Blue. I have a line on a RWD orange one and an AWD blue one, both of which may be available in the fall. Barring that, I'd settle for an Estoril Blue xDrive model as long as it's optioned how I like it.

You should buy hannibals it's literally the exact car you want!

Lease comes up next year in Nov, so a decision will need to be made. Mine is a 2015 and according to Oliver 1 of 5 in Canada with stick and RWD. Still love it though

Congrats AB!! Great choice.
What made you go for the F Sport package?

Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk
At the dealership , the RXs had a beige interior ,which we did not want  and the Fsport was the was not white, black, silver
The seats fit me which is good , and  I can basically just walk out of the RX

The RX F sport was over $60,000 new in 2013, we got it CPO in the very low $30,000

My NB Miata is now 15 years old, so realistically my next purchase will be something to replace it.  Not that I'm in a hurry to get rid of the Miata, as it still runs well and is lots of fun.

I'd like to think I'll eventually replace it with another fun car.  Something small, nimble, responsive, sharp handling and reasonably good on fuel (4 or 6 cyl.).

I suppose I could replace it with a newer Miata/MX-5.  The new Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ looks interesting, too.

My wife and I just bought two new cars. Her 2006 Nissan X-Trail was on its last legs and she was itching for something smaller and sportier, which meant I had to dump my 19 year old Miata for something more family friendly.

My wife picked up a 2017 Honda Civic Coupe EX-T in Orchid White Pearl. It's light and zippy, with a 174-hp 1.5-litre L4 turbo and a slick-shifting 6-speed manual. She's lovin' it.

I picked up a 2017 Mazda6 GX sedan in Snowflake White Pearl. It's powered by a 184-hp 2.5-litre L4 mated to a slick-shifting 6-speed manual. Moving from a Miata to a midsize sedan is a bit of an adjustment, but at least the 6 is fairly sporty. And hot damn, if it isn't a looker...?!?!  ;D

I have to thank Honda and Mazda for still offering manual transmissions in their cars, but that doesn't mean they're plentiful. Both cars had to be located/special ordered which meant some extra waiting time for us. But in the end, we got what we wanted and are happy for it.

excellent choices of cars, I am sure they will be a lot of fun to drive for you both

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I was about to say that I can't explain it...but I'll give it shot:

For me, that old GM stuff (and the British stuff) is sorta like the girl the grew up across the street from you. You know everything about her; her faults, her alcoholic mom, her scars, fears and weaknesses. But you also know all the good things about her too; all her strengths, how to care for her, her likes, dislikes, etc. Imagine the bond you might share with someone you know that well. Any "other" car is more like the girl from a few towns over. Sure, maybe she's gorgeous, trendy, well dressed, and maybe you've taken a test drive or two; but you only know what you've heard. Now maybe the mystery is intriguing, maybe the grass is greener, but will you ever be able to share a bond comparable to what you could with the first girl?

I was the same way with Mustangs.  I had an 1987, 1989 and 1994.  My bro had a 1966 and a 1987 LX.  My youngest bro had a 1979 (was a 4 banger, we transplanted in a V8) and then a 1970.  My step mom had a 4 banger LX.  So Mustangs galore.  I know them inside and out.

But now?  They just feel like cheap POS to me.  Oh I still like them quite a lot (I'd like to build a really nice notchback). But....meh...after driving nice stuff, it would be hard ot get back into something so un-refined and cheap feeling.

But bang for buck, they were tough to beat and fun (at the time).

I had owned 5 Saturn "S" series: my first one was bought brand new, a 1995 dark green SW1 (station wagon SOHC), many years later drove by my son, then by my sister. Bought a bunch of used ones: my former 2002 light blue SL2 (sedan DOHC) still my son daily driver today after he resold his problematic 2002 red SL1 (sedan SOHC). I still have one 2001 silver SW2 auto (station wagon DOHC) but sold my 2000 silver SW2 with stick to a friend of mine, she wanted it so much, I gave up ... but I still miss her.

There was nothing special, fancy or luxury about those cars but they have been to me trusty reliable (exception taken of son's red one), inexpensive to buy, drive & maintain, in short easy to live with. I knew them so well, only need a short drive to feel if it sounds right then make decision on the fly to buy it or leave it! Man, I feel cramped inside now and it is so noisy now compared to my Volt but it still have a special place into my heart.

Back to the topic
Congrats, it seem white cars are trendy theses days but stick become a rarity !!
