Great time to buy a 200! Except not new...these units lose almost 50% of their value right off the lot.

There is no way anyone is actually paying $45k. One reason the used prices are in the toilet is surely that huge discounts are available to move new cars off the lot.

Dart was a dud but I see quite a few 200s... i think the latest update is really nice.  I would have aggressively marketed that car. Offer it up at a lower price and add incentives and great financing. My neighbour has one and I think it's nice aesthetically than any Nissan, toyota, or Honda

$2500 in cash applied before tax and that's it! :-)

I obviously selected the AWD model, because that's the only model I'd look at....a similarly equipped Fusion Titanium nets at $36k - as a comparison, including $750 cash.

So why the fack would anyone buy one over an Acura TLX V6 SH-AWD, Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited, etc. etc. etc.??  ??? ???

^^ what you are reporting is exactly the reason why perception is everything in the market.

In your opinion the perception of paying $43k for a Chrysler is crazy...the only way Chrysler will survive is if they pull a Lexus...make a superior product and sell at a reduced price...

Let's put this $45k 200 into context. Lots of midsize sedans can get pricey but the majority sold are the models that are around $30k or so. And you can get a V6 AWD 200 for around $34k.

Well that's what people tend to buy.

ok... not sure where you get some of your numbers... 30k would get you what you are asking for. the base model is closer to 20. 30k would get you a well equipped v6 limited (with dual zone, nav, back up and a whole lot more)

just priced a '16 fusion awd titanium loaded up and a 2016 200c awd loaded up... including incentives, but no additional discounts, fusion is 40,849, the 200c is 41220.

and also, even that 50% loss number... what are you talking about? that is a 29% difference. and i would wager nearly every loaded up midsized car would be similar drops.

any other crazy comments you would like me to look into for you?

Sure, check out my crazy argument in 4x4 sales thread!  Apparently I am crazy, and don't think they are that rare in Southern Ontario.

haha! yeah, and i don't even mean to be a dick... just gets easy to cherry pick ads/deals/websites, then round numbers (always one way) to try and "prove" a point...

i'll have to check for that one solstice! heh.. sounds like good fun!

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ U.S. dealers entered 2017 with more than six-months’ worth of Chrysler 200 supply, according to Automotive News.

That’s enough inventory for America’s latest discontinued midsize sedan, production of which ended eight weeks ago, to linger well into summer, assuming demand remains on an even keel.

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2017/01/want-new-chrysler-200-dead-theres-surely-no-shortage-supply/

(should be some good incentives to move this model)

meh... very few traded. but lots of fleets that we get to take em from... great deals.

new left-over stock are good deals too, but the ones left are a little odd... usually mid level stuff...

there is my current lowest km C...

still have a new loaded S model in AWD for 29995... not bad for no kms... but still... i'd go for the rentals from last year in the low 20's...
