« on: December 05, 2023, 02:35:10 pm »
Hi everyone,my daughter has a new 2023 Mazda CX-5 with noise brakes ( 22K) on it with 95% being highway driving .Dealership wants to service brakes for $350 which seems pretty high not to mention why do you need serving of a car that is 9 months old.?Any idea out there . Thanks ....

What kind of noise? A tiny rock caught in the brakes can make a terrible racket

A stuck caliper wouldn't take long to start making noise.

Could be brakes (does it only make noise when brakes are applied?) or a wheel bearing.

Like I just said in another Mazda thread, many dealers will try to squeeze all cash they can out of a client before doing what they are supposed to in such a case - inspect, diagnose and repair under the manufacturer's warranty.

I would talk to Mazda and express my dissatisfaction with such approach. If even that doesn't work, which is unlikely, then an indie mechanic is your next stop.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.
