The 150 has a top speed of 107 km/h. It's a governed top speed. The Yamaha SMax is not governed and I see people often topping out at 120 km/h+, about the same as your old Elite 250. Both the PCX and SMax climbs hills at roughly the same pace maybe 80 km/h up a 6% grade. The new fuel injected water cooled 300 scooters top out at 140 km/h.

You'll get used to it.  I could do a u-turn with a fully loaded Burgman with IQ on the back.

A PCX has really good underseat storage....but not massive.  PCX with a nice top box would be able to carry quite a bit though.

Pic from my PCX:

Cool thanks. Yea I can certainly look at external storage options too. Being able to carry a work laptop would be my minimum requirement. I'll see when the time comes.

Old new stock 2016 Burgman 400s are available for $7k.

Yea. Less storage space in the 2018s though.

Only Honda has good financing at low rates though which is why I’m still rooting for team Honda. I won’t have cash for a scooter, that’s going to buying a CBR600F4i I’m buying from a buddy.

Only marginally so.

F4i is absolutely fantastic machine. I have nothing but good to say about it.

What year?

Have begun to actively start the purchase process for a Duke 390.

Heart says 690, but just can't pull the trigger on $10,800 plus tax.

390 is half that....

2002. It'll purely be a nice weather bike so ABS wasn't a requirement but fuel injection was my minimum requirement. I do want to track it but the bike is mint so I'd be scared to lay it down.

I understand, $10k is a barrier that's hard to overcome.

I'm more frugal the older I get I think.

Plus more modding parts for the 390!

F4i is one of the all time greats IMO. Love them and the 599 Hornet.

599 Hornet was the first bike I owned. Other than I'm a little too tall for it, it was an absolute pleasure to own. Power band of the f4i is impressive even in the de-tuned 599.

the dealer somewhat local to me has a 2017 Duke 390 for $5866 all-in (just add HST)...not a bad deal for a pretty hot little bike:

That's the guy I've been talking to for the last few weeks.

Great guy BTW....

You live in Tillsonberg? I used to race motocross there when I was a kid at a track called "Big Ben".  Is it still there?

I thought so..

Yes, great guy. Best dealer I've ever worked with. Been dealing with the owner.

F4i is one of the all time greats IMO. Love them and the 599 Hornet.

One of the joys of motorcycling for me is that it is cheap joy. Start to spend big money and it just becomes joy. I could get a $10k bike at some point in my life but man that's a big decision.

Modding parts are good, lots of 390s out there.

I don't know much about the F4i other than it being a supposedly beginner friendly bike... with more than 100 HP  :o

$5900 OTD for all that? Fantastic deal IMO.

I had one a CBR F2. Fabulous bike!

I'd hardly call it beginner. It was their top 600cc sportbike until the RR model came out. Then they just "re-tuned" the F4i. Remember..the F4i won the Daytona 200 supersport class with multi winner Canadian Miguel Duhamel. He and the bike are the winningest riders in 600cc history. This was at a time when the R6 and GSXR 600 were new and hardcore. So I'd not call it beginner. I mean...3 seconds flat to 100km/hr and high 10s. in the 1/4 mile? First gear is looong and good for 140km/h! Those aren't beginner specs.

It's also much torquier than the other bikes making it much better on the street too. For me, the high clutch cable routing somewhat obscured the tach or speedo...let me know if that's the case for you.

I prefer the later F4i with the one piece seat. And I looked for an F4i to buy cheaply, but every time I looked they had a bazillion KMs....a testament to their quality and reliability.

I thought it was a weird comment too, but this may have been at the time when the Ninja 250 was the only modern sport bike around. It's going to be one fast bike but I'm ready to move up in power in the flat prairies where my 300 just won't shine like it does in the Okanagan.
