Sexay!
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Congrats! Looks great in that color IMO, I even really dig the 17" XK8 'revolver' style wheels compared to the bigger stuff these cars got later on. Interior looks immaculate, even the little plastic trim around the shifter is not cracked (it frequently is). I am sure you're going to love this car.

I've read that an old Jag is a lot like a 25 year old trophy wife........ lovely to look at but temperamental, unreliable and expensive to maintain. You also can take a big hit financially when you want to replace them.  ;D
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Thanks Firm. It's higher mileage than I would have liked but the condition seems exceptional for the year.  It had one (older) owner from 1999 til 2014 and has full service records. He drove it from Quebec City to Miami every fall and back every spring so that is where 75K of the mileage is from. When he got too old to do the drive he sold it to a neighbour who is a car guy with multiple "collectibles" . He put 5K on it in 3-4 summers but sold it because he is renovating his house and has too many cars for his garages.

That history sounds promising but I guess time will tell.  I do know that the timing chain tensioner has been done so that is a positive. All filters and fluids were done before it went to storage last year. Found a power steering line leaking slightly so seller if having that taken care of.

Yeah, but that’s not an old Jag.

Looks great, and should be a fun summer cruiser. Congrats!

Thanks, it's a fair way from the old Miata I started out thinking I wanted or the mix of 1 Series, Z3/4's and Boxsters I looked at next but hopefully it's the right choice.....I think it is but we'll see.

Congrats Sailor.  May you have many trouble free miles with this new toy.

And Kudos on the off-color choice (by that, I mean picking an older Jag, vs. the usual litany of Porsches and BMW M-Cars).

Nice summer toy!  Glad you could find one you're comfortable enough to pull the trigger on.  So when you painting the hood flat black?  :rofl2:

nice...my boss had a 2000 or 2001 version of those in a sandy gold colour...he had it for about 10 years, drove it year round, and was actually pretty trouble free...he sold it when he bought his RS5 Convertible.

It looks beautiful.  It looks like it was very well taken care of inside and out.

+1 on this being the fitting vehicle of choice for you than the others like Boxster, 1-series, Z3, etc.

I wish you all the reliability in the world :)

Claiming my Finder's fee!!!  ;)

Congrats, I've been eying that one for a bit now and it was my pleasure to refer the listing to someone who won't have to sleep in the garden shed for buying it! It looks stunning and that color combo will add value later on. Clean XJ-S are starting to get traction on BaT, it's only a matter of time before the XK8 gets its time.

Let me know when you're planning to come and get it!

Yes, thanks for the heads up. I would never have seen that car otherwise.

Given the weather we have been having, road conditions in central and northern NB and the fact I want to get it here it I think it will come via Hansens.

Ya know... I could see myself swapping the MX-5 someday for something like this, just for the different experience.
For as long as I can, I want to have a drop-top and a m/t car in my driveway.

I could grab a Jag like this for the drop top part, and one of these will work for m/t and reasonably entertaining to drive:
(yes, butterface), but that blue is sweet.

Or.. one of Patrick's cast-off G70 Sport's... nudgenudgewinkwink..

I have a similar plan only I want a RWD manual sports/muscle car and a manual daily/winter beater.  I'd probably go with a base model LX manual in black (only other color option is white and I'm done with white vehicles).
