My new job gave me an iPhone 7.  I have no complaints per se about the hardware, but I dislike iOS compared to Android - far less flexible and intuitive.  I honestly have no idea how Apple became so popular.

Well they were effectively first to market with a widely available touchscreen smart phone. I think a lot of it is what you’re used to; as a longtime iPhone user I’m sure I wouldn’t find an Android device to be intuitive.

What I love about Apple is the integration among different devices. I have a MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad, and two Apple TVs and they work together seamlessly.

To some degree, that's certainly true, but an Android user moving to iOS, or vice versa, shouldn't be considered a total n00b in smartphone usage.  The amount of stuff I can't do (not that I can't figure it out, but it's not possible with the current coding) with iOS isn't fleeting.

Stupid question.

With my old iPhone I could listen to Youtube and surf the web.  With my Samsung I cannot do both.  Any suggestions?

Download Mozilla Firefox browser.

Access youtube through the browser and open another tab to surf the net at the same time.

My two-year contract with BellMTS is about to end.

Would I like to get a new phone? Yes. Do I need a new phone? No.

To get a Samsung Galaxy S8, I'd have to purchase a plan for at least $65/mo, plus pay $289 for the phone itself. It's just getting stupid. It's times like this I'm tempted to get a Talk/Text plan for $35 and say 'screw it'.

Wait until around X-mas.  They usually drop to $zero.

Brent, I have the S8+ and love it!  Water resistant, awesome camera, and great batter life.  But what about the S7?  You can currently get that for $0 with plan.

With the upgrade, I was given a $100 credit, so I got the S8.  Pretty slick so far!

Thanks but it does not work.  The techs say that is the way Youtube is set up.

Yes, it works.  But my directions suck. (forgot you're a new Android user).

Make sure you have an additional browser in addition to Chrome. (I like Dolphin, but Firefox works).

1)    Open www.youtube.com in the Chrome browser.

2)   In the three-dot menu at the top right, check the “Request desktop site” box.

3)    Navigate to the video you want to listen to and press play.

4)   **(optional..some phones you may need to accept )** If you’re shown a warning saying YouTube wants to send you notifications, accept it. (I never accept and it works fine)

5)    Exit the Chrome app and you’ll be able to resume playback from the notification menu. (notifications menu is slide down from top of main page).
