I hope you'll give me a little leeway as this is only 3 months into my bike's 6 month hibernation.  I do obsess constantly about other bikes but just may have missed today.
But anyways, here goes.

Maybe "obsessing" isn't the right word, but lately I've been thinking I should sell my two bikes and replace them with one of these.

Not sure how much the maintenance schedule is different from the 520...but the maintenance interval on my 520 was measured in hours..

Man...how much time do you have??   

The top one is the RC30.  It is legendary.  The bike was based on the RVF750, which was Honda's exotic factory race bike.  This was in an era (1987) when there really were no true sport bikes as we know them today...small, compact, lightweight, powerful, exotic.  Sure there were a few sportbikes..Ninjas and the Honda Hurricanes and the veneragble GSXR750, but this was the first real factory "special" truly meant for racing.  And it had a price to match..$15,000.  Cherry ones go for $25K+ today.  I had a chance to buy one, but like a moron I passed because I had Yamaha's exotic racebike...the FZR750 OWO1.  Some goodies included a fantastic V4 engine that spun up to 12,000 RPM.  It had titanium connecting rods..unheard of then..and pretty much still unheard of.  Cams were gear driven and you could hear them whine.  Even today, this bike is small by sportbike standards.  It's closer to the size of a 400 or 500.  I love this bike more than any other I think.

The bottom one is the end of an era.  In the mid-80s, 2 stroke sport bikes were THE bikes to have.  It's what was being raced in Grand Prix at the time.  They were unruly, extremely light, difficult to ride and had extremely peaky power.  These are the race bikes I grew up riding, and without question they made me a better rider because of it.  The power bands were only about 3,500RPM long...nothing, nothing, nothing then BAM all 60 RWHP.  Now 60 HP doesn't sound like much..but the bike only weighed 130 kilos.  The NSR250 MC28 picture is the last of these (1996).  It's a V-Twin 2 stroke, dry clutch (you can hear the clutch rattle like mad!), and PGM ignition..which was a 3D ignition map.  Love these....and had bought one last year, but because the wood crate wasn't certified because of the tsunami, Canada Customs wouldn't let it into the country...and they turned it around.  I may try again next year..

I was mistaking the RC for the NR.......then i saw the ROUND instead of OVAL pistons.shame about that eras "LEGO" wheels..............

  I'd love an OLDE NORTON for no other reason than my Dad rode one.....but i know i will go into my box with the Honda Transalp i still have and have the power to swing a leg ov'r the tall bastard...now maybe if Jay Leno would adopt me my tune may change.....the older bikes though umm err "Tempremental" still have that CLASS.........and the Italians still have the looks in modern bikes..BMW for long term reliability and lately some OOOMMMPHHHH!!!! ...electric NO THANKS...who want to ride a mute HORSE or a PRANCING ONE for that matter....
