Studed snows and rims
« on: October 06, 2023, 07:52:54 pm »
Learned my lesson last year; buy early.

Snows with studs on a lifted Tremor.  Found a great online Quebec firm.  Love to mention their name, but since the country has been transformed into the former East Germany, I don't want to cause these people problems.  :P

Overall, not very satisfied.  Extremely satisfied.  :)

Are they legal in your part of Ontario? Illegal in my part.

I think I know where you bought these...But not sure because shipping is usually free? Did you upgrade shipping?

Also...Did you use the instant 10 percent off code?

Yes, shipping was free.  It would have been so much easier to post the entire invoice, but I didn't want to F*ck these people. You must know what I'm talking about.

OK, here's a hint for members that have no clue about WTF I'm referring to.  I live in a place that gets a lot of daily winter snow.  They plow it, but as they plow it they spread salt, the green stuff; universally and without fail.  Consequently, many roads and parts of roads, depending on local wind breaks, turn to water and then immediately freeze.  Our per capita winter highway fatalities must be tops in the country.

So what do you do.  DIE.  Skid off the road, no fault of your own and get nailed with an "at fault' accident which effectively DOUBLES your insurance rate.  It's so sick.  :P

In 2019 I paid the Acura dealer $2300 plus tax for 18 in. Enkei (Honda OEM) plus X-Ice and TPMS and that was a deal.

I'm less than $1K, 4 years later, for tires that are huge in comparison plus studed.  DELIGHTED doesn't cover it.  ;D

BTW, these Firestones I think are only 1/4 inch smaller than my 35's BFGs.  I'll soon see what the speedo reads v. GPS.

^^ Yes , I could have made do with the 15 inch snow tires from my old civic. They were still good . Just can't deal with the  speedometer error.
So bought new. Will give the old ones to my nephew as he has a similar vintage civic.
