Nice little review. I've kicked tires on the AMG SLs a few time and really like them…but then I do like GT cars. As you point out the interiors are special.

The V12 is a dinosaur though and for under half the price, the new E63S will absolutely blow it away running 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. In my opinion the SL65 is just too damn slow for all that power.

The E63S is aided by the fact that it is AWD.  That's what is killing the V12.  If it had AWD to hookup on, it would probably be close to GTR territory for 0-60mph.

My first stop after the Lottomax numbers come in would be a Merc dealer for one of these bad boys.....and an E63.....and a G63 for a winter beater  . Ive loved SLs since I was a little kid, this and the Jeep are the only convertibles I would ever own (ok, ok, maybe one of those V8 Miatas). Great article and a fantastic car...now excuse me, I have to go wipe some drool off the keyboard.
