There was a bitter municipal election in my little burb.  A group of the candidates ran heavily negative campaigns - often using personal attacks on the others.  They were well financed and exploited their ties to the United Conservative Party (UCP).  With the exception of one of their slate, the group was severely trounced.  My affluent little city elected a group of quite progressive people - what a pleasant surprise.

Fear-and-Hate-based politics isn't working well in Alberta.  That's good.

Flying to Korea for a 2-day whirlwind of driving prototypes and evaluating future designs going out 5 years, then coming home to 3 days off with my wife and newborn. Not a bad week, all told  ;D
