I'll be there.
Been going pretty well every year since 1976...

(Yes, I still have the 1976 program!)

I think  that would been at the international centre by the airport, and about $5 to get in

Don't remember the price (my dad paid for it), but it sure was at the International Centre. Preferred that venue in a lot of ways, especially as there was so much parking and it was free. My first 10-15 years of auto shows were all there. Don't think it moved to the Convention Centre until some time close to 1990, IIRC.

I've been going (every year) since '86 and it's always been at the Conv. Ctr for me.

From the article:  "By 1998 the Toronto International Auto Show was being held at the Metro Convention Centre downtown."  Am I going to have to fish out my old show programs for proof that it's been at the Conv centre longer?

Found one passing reference saying that it was at the convention centre in 1986!

My program confirms the reference.  The theme in 1986 was "Time in Motion"   :P

When I was not yet ready to drive I remember going to the International Centre with my mom and brother on the Airport Rd TTC bus - standing on it forever - as it inched closer and closer to the International Centre.

Call it ~26 years ago....that'd be 1983 or 1984.  If I recall, a then-new Pontiac Fiero was The Rage at the show, likely making it February 1984ish.

Likely the traffic did it in at that location.

Have it out with 'Norm Mort' the author of the article. I remember in 1984 it was at the IC, thereafter I was in Ottawa for 18 years. Fast forward 20 years later Iand went in 2006 and it was at the CC downtown.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

I can't go that Friday (can't take that day off).  I will likely go Saturday.

Has the group ever gone on a Saturday instead?

I can do Sat late afternoon/evening..
If the group goes on Fri I can make it out for a beer afterwards and hear all of the details...

I have to confirm with my neighbours (they want to go too, so we'll go down together).

If you'll be there Saturday as well, we should try and meet if we can.  Maybe over supper or something.

Anyone else might go Saturday?
