Help deciding.
« on: October 24, 2021, 02:09:35 pm »
I am having a hard time deciding between models. Here is where I am at:

2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio TI

2021 Genesis GV70 2.5T Advanced

And maybe a dark horse of 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate Calligraphy

Any help making a decision?

From 2019:

Update: I got the TLX and I love it. I have no regrets and admire it from the window quite often. Drives beautifully. I would have regretted the Maxima.

We are still waiting for pictures ;)

Vote for GV70 for me. It looks just as luxurious but it'll be reliable.

The Santa Fe would need to be a hybrid for me. It gets praise from Consumer Reports and many other reviewers. Great on gas and still has dynamics of a conventional powertrain. It uses a 1.6L turbo engine and a torque converter 6 speed tranny.

The Stelvio just seems like a more fun ride than the GV70 but the GV70 seems to have everything else going for it. And then I think a fully loaded Santa Fe would be as good as a more base GV70.

Are you saying the Alfa Romeo isn’t reliable?

Clear winner for me, too.

When in the history of Alfa have they even been average in reliability?  The answer is never.

For real? Because if they’re known to not be reliable, that would make the decision for me.

Wow I didn’t realize it was that well established that they were not reliable.

So I guess my decision is fully loaded Santa Fe vs GV70 Advance.

Being a Hyundai, I would pick the cheaper of the bunch just for depreciation.

I honestly wasn't sure if that was a serious question.  Alfa, reliable?  The answer is LOL!

The Santa Fe is nice for sure.  My sister drove one for years, which she loved, then replaced it with the new Tucson, which she also loves.   But if it is within your means there is NO reason to pass on the GV70.  Just go look at both in person.  I was very happy with the Sonata I had for 5 years, but it can't hold a candle to my Genesis.  Night and day, bro.

If reliability is your thing than likely a V6 Hyundai product would be a better choice than their 4's

Had a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe for almost 11 years, my wife loved it.  But it seems over the past decade they have had a lot of issues with their 4 cylinders.  As stated above, if you can afford the nicer Genesis with a V6, that's where my money would go.

The thing is I am willing to pay for the GV70 but not the V6. It would be the turbo 4-cylinder.
