Handling is crazy different. With 1,000 lbs of battery located low under the floor, these things defy physics.

Nonsense.

The handling numbers were similar to other SUVs, including Ford Edge.

And nobody, ever, has said an Edge defies physics in the handling department.

The fact that EVs weigh as much as 1/2 on truck doesn't help the handling....

Agree on the handling 100%, the fun part is going straight line but in the turns you need to watch it, the RS3 destroys the MachE GT in a turn.
I'm sorry if you missed my question (or I missed your reply)

What's the selection like out your way? Choice of all colors/options??
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

There are 15 or so 2023 MachE but only one GT and it's grabber blue which is a bit showy for me, I love the black. I'm likely sticking with the RS3 for now but the straight line of the MachE GT Performance is really impressive.

At least 5,000lbs in this version.

Road and Track sum up my feelings:

"Even with its four driven wheels, the Mach-E GT isn’t eager to dive into corners under heavy braking. It rewards conservative approaches into corners with hard throttle coming out of the apexes. It’s a rewarding driving challenge if done well. But it’s curiously undramatic and no, it’s nowhere near as much fun as keeping a Mustang GT—or Mach 1 or Honda Civic Si for that matter—boiling along."

I would say this is a fair summary, you need to watch it going in to turns, there is just so much weight and quick torque on demand.

No question that if you want to take it to the track most EV won’t cut it but on public roads they are up to the task. How often do you drift the 4 wheels on dry asphalt on public roads?

I have to say black is very nice when clean.

How long does a black car remain clean?  [emoji14] :run: I never owned one.

It’s measured in nanoseconds.  [emoji14]
Hes 100% correct, they look great for a few seconds

I'm not asking to drift anything. Most people aren't. But it weighs 5,000lbs, man!

I mean..can't we be honest about this? Yes, it handles quite well for an SUV or other vehicle that weighs 5,000lbs. But defies physics?

Come on.

I think you misread my response; let me rephrase. I agree most EV are probably no fun on a race track but they are quite adequate on public roads.

How about that?

Agree guy, If you take a Mach e gt performance out and push the accelerator pedal all the way down on a straight it definitely feels like it is defying physics. To get a 5000 lb machine going that fast that quick is unreal, it feels like it can drive straight through a brick wall!

Yea, it's the massive torque down low and instantly most people aren't accustomed to .

I never did commit to the Mach-E GT, but now Kia has dropped the 2023 EV6 GT price to the magical $69,995 to make it eligible for the extra rebate goodies!

The EV6's exterior design has grown on me. It also looks to have better ground clearance than its Hyundai sibling.

Is it time to test-burn some rubber?  ;)
