^ For some reason, I thought the ATS-V only got the 8 speed auto. That is pretty awesome!

And it's available in white!

Now if only it was available in "cheap".  :P

Wait for 3 years for A used one  ;D

Well if you can't wait the 3 years

When I saw it at the auto show, I was curious to see if the rumours about AWD would possibly be true.  I got down on my hands and knees and checked under the car, only to be bested by those smart folks at Mazda - the undercarriage was covered by a felt material (clearly not going to be in the production car).

I was positive that the secretive layering meant that AWD hardware was under there, but I'm surprised to see the announcement being devoid of same.  That's pretty sh!tty.

The interior did look quite nice, but even with the fancy materials it's not worth $39,000 loaded.  Shame -  AWD really could have made it an alternative to a 3-series or a G70 ;).

I wonder if they put the felt material there to avoid any drips from messing up the carpet of MTCC.

My sister's 2015 mazda 3 has felt installed in the rear wheel wells. Maybe it's to quiet them down or is a form of rust protection. :o

Wait, I thought Mazda 6 NA 2.5 would still have a 6-speed option. Sounds a bit odd for Mazda to take the manual option out.

For 2018, the GX trim has disappeared.  More standard equipment on the GS trim, along with auto only.

They went from manual in all trims to no manual at all.

We all missed this one, Cadillac ATS/ATS-V manual.

https://abbotsford.craigslist.ca/ctd/d/2017-cadillac-ats/6463610205.html

Sweet baby Jesus 464 HP twin turbo V6. Only dual zone auto climate though, not as luxurious as a 2016 Buick Envision Premium II, but luxurious enough.

Fack me is that all sorts of sweet.
But why is a brand new car being sold on Craigslist ???

Anyway...

Could Mazda ever bring back the 'Speed6?
Shouldn't take a bunch of effort to turn the wick up on that 2.5T ... and put a manual in it...

Damn. And if it wasn't for the G70 it's looking like the A4 would be the last luxury brand manual sedan once the new 3-series arrives.
OH is there no manual 3 series when the new one arrives?  That would suck the big one.

Word is that the new M340i will be automatic only. Other markets will get manuals in lesser models but since the F30 never offered xDrive in combination with a manual, and you can no longer get a RWD four cylinder 3-series in Canada, I'm guessing the manual is dead here.

If I could justify spending the money I'd love to order a 340i seeing as it will be the last RWD, manual transmission 3-series sold here.

I did forget about the ATS and ATS-V.

As someone was has owned a speed6 since it was new, I would love to see a revised model.  I still love my car, but the body is, starting to rust and it is time to look for something new. (i know, it is a mazda... but what 10 yr old cars in Ottawa don't show rust after 10 winters without rust proofing?)

A modern speed6 would be amazing if priced right.

I'm not crazy about them.  They seem too large, too heavy and I just don't like the look.  That said, I've never driven one, so maybe they are a blast to drive.

Fusion just looks like a fat 4-door Mustang to me.

My old suitemate has a 14 Accord Sport and 15 Fusion. It's unbelievable how thick and heavy the Fusion looks when it's parked next to the Accord. The Accord just looks so much slimmer.

If you wanted similar size, AWD performance sedan I'd probably suggest a Audi S3, but that's a completely different price point than the old Mazda Speed lived in.

Very.  A Honda Civic has more functional room inside.

I think you guys forget how small the first generation Mazda 6 was.  It's comparable to a new Audi A3 for space inside.  The new Civic would be bigger inside than the first generation Mazda 6.

No, the 6 was bigger than the A3. I'm 6' tall and can't sit in the back of an A3 sedan - roof is too low. I fit fine in the Sportback.

The first gen Mazda 6 was Acura TSX size, a world midsize. Somewhere between a North American compact and a North American midsize. The second gen grew into a North American midsize, and now the third gen shrunk down somewhere in between a world midsize and a North American midsize.
