Put as many seats in as you need when you need it, take them out when you don't.

The Promasters come with 3 rows.  Leave 2 out, keep 1 in for the kids.

Sounds painful - put seats on to take kids to school in the am, take seats off for a load...then put seats on again to pick up kids from school and then off for more deliveries....repeat!

He should be able to keep 5-6 seats in at any given time.

Yep.  Keep one row in full time.  The rest can be removed.

How about one of these? :) Seems like it can handle plenty of kegs with 2 of the 3 rows removed.  Seems slightly larger than a traditional minivan, but not quite as much as the cargo vans.

when we went to the UK last summer for a vacation, these things were everywhere...lots of small local tours use them...i'm not exaggerating when i say they're the Caravan of the EU (they are THAT common)...which isn't a bad thing, i just couldn't get over how many of them were around.

the promasters actually are kinda goofy. right now i can't order them with extra rows of seats. the small guys (city) i can order with a  second row, but no third. the bigguns (1500, 2500, 3500) seems that they want them to be upfitted with the seats and such. annoying. i've seen some cool motorhome conversions though!

my buddy is about to start looking for a new truck...currently has a 2014 RAM 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi V8...looks like a nice truck, but hasn't been overly reliable...currently has about 170k kms on it so he wants to move it before it gets too many kms on it...cylinder 8 in the engine blew at 129k kms...out of warranty, but he argued with them long enough that they worked out a deal that saw him only pay $1200 to cover the labour...the repair was $12k...he said he'll likely look at a new F150 with the Coyote V8, but he really likes the new GM Denali trim, and apparently there is a 25% discount coming up in June so he'll likely go that route.

he can expect heavy discounts for the F150 as well....I am hearing 12k starting in late June. Ford needs to get rid of the 17s because 18s will be enroute soon.

yea, the big 3 always have something on...i saw an ad last week for 35% off RAMs...yea...35%...as great of a deal as that is on a new truck, it makes the resale value $hit...likely not a massive deal if you get that deal, but if you're some sucker who didn't get much of a deal, be prepared to take a bath on trade in/selling time.

Well, I might be in the market sooner than I anticipated.  The Pathfinder had to be towed today as it stranded me on the side of the road.  Everything simply shut down, so guessing alternator.  It had to be towed so I'll find out first of the week what the verdict is.  Definitely still leaning towards a truck vs van.

Can't remember how old your Pathy is, but fuel pumps were an issue on the early ones. Mine left me stranded a few times before we figured it out. IIRC, it wasn't the pump itself so much as a bad ground/connection at the pump. Once I got it fixed, never had a problem with it again.

No fuel will shut you down all of a sudden. If the alternator craps out, you should be able to drive another half hour or so on the battery, until things slowly grind to a halt due to the lack of electricity. (Had the alternator crap out on my Pathy, too  :D )

Do some research on those a few months ago.  Very interested.  But just to get things like A/C, cruise control, and a few other basic things, and it starts to add up, like mid $30k, with no decent interest rates.

I've been super busy so I haven't test driven anything just yet, but after a little bit of online research on a few trucks, I think I'll start with test driving the F-150, RAM, Tundra, and Ridgeline.  Hopefully I can get some seat time in the next couple of weeks.

Don't forget to check out the back seat...F150's got them all beat (well, except maybe Tundra, which is big too). Your friends and kids will love you.

my coworker bought a new F150 recently (6 months ago?)...the rear leg room is ridiculous...seriously, it's ridiculous.

Five of us drove to Montreal and back in my buddy's F-150. Super comfortable for everyone.

The Tacoma may be a bit uncomfortable for taller or heaver set people.
