Well, $100k is the new $70k, it seems, so price wise, it probably isn't out to lunch. We knew the V8 was gonna be dropped in the new version, so not a surprise. The V6 l has been around for a long while & should be reliable.

I enjoyed the one I had when we were out in Kelowna, drove decent, nice low end V8 torque & was quite luxurious inside (made my Passport interior feel quite low rent). The seats were quite high even in the lowest setting, which gave a perception of a lower belt line & also great visibility. For shits & giggles I've looked online to see what a 2022, or 2023 would cost for one of these, even though it's more truck than I need.  If I were to seriously look at replacing the Passport, I'd add the current generation to my shopping list.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the new one ditching the V8 or the $100K price tag.  This is just how the market is going.  Better fuel economy and power are definitely nice, and that V8 wasn't necessarily known for being ultra robust or good on fuel.
