interesting little car...but $70k??...i'd take a brand new RS3 and pocket the $5k savings.

Yeah, interesting car and all, but $70K, yeeesshhh, thats a lot of scheckels for a french hatchback. Sure the kid in me remembers trying to master this in Gran Turismo and thinks it would be cool, but the adult in me says get a Focus RS and keep $15-20k in your pocket.
Lighten up Francis.....

These start around GBP 25,000 in the UK...

This thing is awesome. How many manufacturers decide to move the engine to the back for their performance model? Crazy French :)
I love it when a plan comes together.

Very cool car but for at nearly 70g's I'm thinking that puts it out of reach for most people who would actually consider a hot hatch. I can think of quite a few cars ahead of this one if I had that kind of money to blow on a fun car. NSX, corvette, or as noted above a focus rs, wrx sti, golf and pocket 20gs.

Back in 2001 when the first gen WRX wasn't even sold here and was the most badass thing you might actually be able to buy, the Renault was amazing.  Today, well, it's still really cool, but not $70K cool.  You can go on about collectible, blah, blah, blah, but no one knows what it is here and no one really cares.  Tons of new and used cars I'd buy ahead of it.  I happen to know of a 964-series 911 Turbo I can pick up for not much more.  Or yeah, a new Focus RS and a fat bank account.

70g's for already molested(not a pristine) one is crazy... i would buy boxster instead.

it's very cool, but maybe 30k cool at most.

yes it's 25k GBP, but pure exchange rate don't translate very well anyway.

I saw one of those in 1984 in Belgium.   I was touring along gently through the cemeteries when this R5 turbo went past...doing a good imitation of a Ferrari in a great hurry.   I always thought it was a neat car but I wouldn't want to own one nor to drive it around here.

I think the Renault 5 Turbo II had a reputation as being a handful.

It was the inspiration for the SHOgun Festiva with the Taurus SHO engine mounted in the rear.
