I certainly would have gone for the 450h instead of the 350 we got, but used the 450's were pretty scarce (do like our Exec trim though  :) )

As mentioned, better mileage, more power, and greater resale. All for not much of a price bump new

Otherwise all the pure electrics, Lexus included, seem a year off

+1 vote for the 450h. I test drove one with 20" rims and was surprised how smooth and composed it was over Toronto roads. The V6 in it was excellent too, like it wasn't sporty but pulled hard with with satisfying sound note.

Another things I've discovered after almost a year of driving a hybrid car, is how convenient and smart its HVAC is. Since it's not engine driven, the AC works all the time regardless if the engine is running or not, making it very convenient and efficient when the car is parked and let's say you are waiting for someone in a parking lot. The cabin temp is consistently maintained while the engine comes on every once in awhile to top up the battery. Similar story with heating in winter.
Also, Toyota hybrids are easier in DIY maintenance, should you be so inclined.

But can you find a 450h available for sale today? Recently checked in with Toyota and it as like 6-8 months for a Camry Hybrid.
I love it when a plan comes together.

https://www.autotrader.ca/cars/lexus/rx/on/?rcp=15&rcs=0&srt=4&yRng=2022%2C&prx=-2&prv=Ontario&loc=L6M%202G2&kwd=hybrid&hprc=True&wcp=True&sts=New-Used&inMarket=advancedSearch

That's only on autotrader. There are likely more available through the Lexus search and more coming up.

I'd upgrade.

I'd also try to park it inside this time or use a faraday pouch/box to store your keys.

A square metal can from loose tea works well too.

An old watch box should be good enough

Many ads on Autotrader from Dealers are just dealers trolling.  The vehicles posted are long sold.  The classic response is that the vehicle in question just sold that morning or the previous afternoon.  "Haven't had a chance to remove the ad.  But no worries, we have more coming in."   We did it routinely.

I think the best solution is to relocate the vehicles OBD and replace it with a Dummy.  They can be purchased.

I use a steering wheel bar-lock when parking in a shady hood or leaving the car for a long time. Obviously it won't stop someone who really wants a new Lexus.

A couple of Kia dealers did it to me over a decade ago. I still don't feel like buying anything from them, or Kia in general. It's just terrible for the brand to have such distributors and I really hope it's not the case with Lexus.

My dealer without checking in details said 3 to 4 months which does not bother me. I am thinking 450h top model ( non sport) as the color combination for the seats does not exist in fsport3. On the other hand, I am really reading good stuff for the X5 45e. Totally different beast, a non significant cost increment for fewer features, better dynamics, less reliability but great looking. Torn….give me arguments to go one way or the other.

Normally I'd say go, help save the earth but this thing is so slow in EV mode that no one will likely be using it and in the hybrid mode the car is thirsty, significantly worse than the RX 450h:

If you need something with a plug then maybe order a new NX plug-in hybrid?

But I think the wait on those might be loooong.
