This is not a car to wholesale, IMO.

A car like this is very, very rare - one original owner (car enthusiast with means to maintain it), no accident, very low mileage, rare and beautiful color combo.... I guess the interior is pristine given it's been so lightly used. Basically like new 13 years old car. This must account for something for someone.

More so, it's due to receive a new valve cover gasket anyway (recall) so even that concern is alleviated.

The market tells you what the car is worth and the only way to find out is to post it higher and see what brings in. If I were you I would post it for $15,000 and see what happens. You can always lower the price if it doesn't sell and you absolutely have to get rid of it.

I don't disagree... if he has the time and patience to privately sell it, he absolutely should, for top dollar.

I just think that top dollar is in the $12-12.5K range and not $15.

You should. This car has to stay with someone who can appreciate it.

Given that my son sold his 2013 Kia Rio 5 for $9K last April, $12K for a 2011 Serie 3 BMW in perfect shape with less mileage seems a steal to me.

$15K seems more appropriate.

If it was a stick I would have considered buying it for a runabout and having DKaz drive it back

For what it is worth back 2022 sold my BMW 328 for $12,500 in private sale. Low kms (under 70,000), Not an executive. 16 inch mags. Perfect condition but had been accidented in past. Hardly saw any winter service.  Sold to 2nd person that saw it. It went fast.

Here is the story of sale if interested.

https://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=119339.0

If yours being better equipped and in excellent shape I suspect you could sell it easily for $12,500 even though 2 years have past since my sale.

The low KMS will have people very interested. That is rare.

A local dealer has a similar 2011 with over 200k on it listed for $11,000. Granted, this dealer always seems to overprice their inventory.

A 200,000km E90 is a $5-7,000 car retail. There are plenty of them on Marketplace or Kijiji anytime you look.

There are ZERO 2011 E90 under 80K on Autotrader in the entire country.
There are two 2011 E90 under 90K on Autotrader in the entire country, asking $16K and $22.5K respectively. Both are either white or black on black.

You can't just use AutoTrader as a measure for what's available; other platforms are certainly just as or more popular for vehicle listings.  Likely varies by area and vehicle also.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Curious as to how much a difference 323 vs 328 makes?  I've been ignoring323's in any of the searches I've done and looked at cars between 50- 80K. (within 15K of ours)  using those filters (as well as AWD and sedan) there are zero hits on Kijiji within 1000kms of me.  :-\

323i's are pretty basic in comparison (less options), smaller engine (2.5L) and the most important part is that they're RWD.

RWD is the biggest thing. The 323 uses a slightly detuned version of the same N52 engine that the 328i does. Your car is an Executive Pack so it's more loaded, but for the most part, options are largely similar too, and it's hard for most people to differentiate unless someone points it out. So for the average buyer, there's no real difference.

The way to end all this suspence is to list it and see what happens
