Price as tested: $63,745

 :fall:

My reaction, too. So much for entry-level compact CUV from Audi.

 ??? have you even priced a 2.0 Q5  ::)

That wasn't the point of my comment. The point was on how quickly one ends up in the lottery win category even with the entry level CUV (for Audi) once you start putting checkmarks in the option boxes. Nothing new, of course, or different from any other manufacturer. At least Audi shows a 50% increase, Ford manages a near 100% price hike once all the options are ticked off  :)

I personally never warmed up to the looks of the Q5/Q7 family, as well as the A7 (I find it fugly and distorted). My money would go to RDX/MDX.
A4/6/8 are a different story. Those are seriously good looking cars.

Let's see, a 100% increase on a base $21,000 vehicle (I'm assuming you're ragging on the Escape for the nth time) = $42,000 while a 50% increase on a $42,000 base Audi = $63,000.  Where does the 'value' logic lie in that?  It's like someone saying they'd rather have a $63,000 car that depreciates 45% in 4 years than a $42,000 car that depreciates 50% as you are losing less money.

Sorry to break in with the facts.  The Hybrid comes with a ton of stuff in it's base price of $56,600 including Navi.  The hybrid delivers v6 performance with 4 cylinder MPG. A similarly equipped 3.0T is $54,600.
