Well, another car is added to the fleet... good job Oliver & Firm guessing... oh & Rrocket as well who texted me, lol!!

Picked up a low mileage 2006 SLK 55 AMG, I have been looking at them on & off for the past couple of years along with 997 Porsches. This one was located in Quebec pretty much halfway between Montebello & Mt Tremblant. I test drove it on the Monday of the long weekend & came away impressed. I gave the owner an offer a few days later, but we couldn't come to an agreement. Then a few days later the ad was down so I figured it was sold. Then after about 5 days it came back on the market & I contacted the owner a few days later & we made a tentative deal based on a PPI. I met him this morning at a garage in Rockland who did the PPI for me & Ontario safety.

So its pretty much a loaded 2006 SLK 55, has the nav, air scarf, auto climate control, etc... only thing missing is the sport package, but this one still does have the big 6 piston calipers up front & 4 piston on the rear. The mileage at the PPI this morning was 53,610km only!!! Car drives great, that V8 makes beautiful music & is intoxicating. It's a more refined drive compared to my 951, but still sporty & can take a corner quickly.

Took me a while to get it cleaned up this evening, was covered in dust inside & out. Not sure why someone would try to sell a car so dirty!?

951 is up for sale if anyone is interested, lol!!

Congrats on the purchase.  Are you going to track it like you did your 944?

Speaking of 944, I've never been much of a Porsche man, so I was never really on the up and up on what engines were in what, etc.  I always thought your 944 had a V8, but then I was looking at your ad on Kijiji, and noticed the 'Turbo' floor mats.  Did some Wikipedia 'research', and I come to find out that your 944 has a turbo-4.  Colour me shocked!
