Well if Toyota is getting fully on-board, EV’s will be mainstream soon! :D

Toyota's been working on EV tech and alternatives to ICEs loooooooong before Tesla was even Musk's dream.

So by 2035 I should be able to buy a nice used PHEV Sienna. Sweet.

Yup, except my kids will be 26 and 24 by then. I think we would be good with a full EV Rav4 if Toyota also came out with a good super fast charging network.

Misleading title....Toyota will have an electric version of every model in their line up. *very* different than having only electric cars in their line up.

Unless I missed it, that's exactly what the title is stating.......not that it's going to be electric only.   ???

At a rate of 1000 per week, and even if they only produce 5000 per week starting in 2019, Tesla will have produced 1.6 million Model 3 by 2025 for a total $8 B with only 14% profit margin, >>$10 Billion with the margins they make on S & X.

Toyota gave them the factory...and got hundreds of millions back as Tesla stock increased dramatically...perhaps Toyota should just gift Tesla factories and forget trying to produce a compelling EV ... the margins on the stock increases are way more than Toyota stands to make building cars with battery cells purchased from other companies.

Toyota and Panasonic are in a partnership for all these new EVs they will produce.

And unlike Tesla, Toyota knows how to make money...something Tesla has found very elusive.

It doesn't matter how many cars Tesla sells if they keep losing money...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

+1000.  If' my brewery sold the most amount of beer on the east coast but I lost money with every bottle sold, does it really mean anything to me as business?  You can only sustain that model for so long.

And the latest news is Tesla has regressed in production for the Model 3.

In addition to making some of the cars by hand, they are also making the batteries by hand!!

Tesla better get their stuff together.  When Toyota release an EV vehicle (and they will deliver) it  will be profitable.  Tesla has the edge over other brand, they convinced enough sheeps of what the future of transportation will be. but if they don’t hurry it will die off as soon as someone else has a comparable product.

Imagine a 45k$ Toyota Camry EV with 400km range and Toyota reputation

^^^ highly doubt it would be that cheap but if it actually were, Toyota would take over the EV market.

Kinda like how successful they were back then with hybrids...

I’d like to see more hybrid SUVs...around $40-50k, I’d buy one.

I'd actually look at a PHEV SUV as well if it wasn't for the cost penalty. No electric vehicle rebates at all here in NB. The knowledge that I was paying thousands more the same thing than someone in Ontario would really irk me.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.
