My ranking:

1: Impreza RS or Sport-Tech model
2: Crosstrek
3: Forester
4: Outback (Move move up if I wanted the extra cargo space)
5: Ascent (Always found them to be meh)

Fuel Economy are close enough, that it wouldn't matter to me.

This article would have been 10x better if they listed the actual measurements (length (seats up and down) x width x height (seat back and roof)) for each model.  This can make a big difference if you load large items (coolers) and gear.

Edmunds is your friend for that kind of stuff.   I agree though, it’s kind of silly to do that kind of article without measurements.

Strictly answering the question in the title: none. Unappealing looks + CVT = hard pass.
A base manual Crosstrek would be the only one I would consider as A to B transportation appliance.

They killed the manual in the current Impreza/Crosstrek generation. Only manual Subies left are WRX and BRZ. Refinement of the CVT is much improved in the new Impreza though, compared with my '22 Crosstrek.

Some "numbers" : The Outback has more cargo room, all seats up, than the Ascent with the 3rd row stowed.
