Topic: 2017 Subaru Forester in Ottawa - can anyone check it out?

I've got a friend in Winnipeg who is interested in a Subaru located at a Subaru dealer in Ottawa.  It's a decent price, and a manual.

We are still trying to figure out shipping to see if it would even be worth it, and haven't even made contact with the dealer yet, but if we should, is anybody in the Ottawa area nearby to easily check out the car?  Any recommendations on a reputable mechanic who could do a PPI?

That dealer is 9mins from my place, my son works across the street from the dealership. I'm currently unemployed, so I've got free time this week, might be back at work next week tho

For a PPI, Roch Drouin auto are a great Subaru specialist, but like 40mins from the dealership. Closer ones that are good from what I've heard are Takaki Auto & Capital Tuning. Could just get the PPI done by the dealer, no?

Legacy Auto Tech is also a Subaru specialist in Ottawa, but they're quite far.

Can confirm Gurgie is excellent for putting eyeballs on a car.

Assuming it's been in Ottawa is whole life, expect more rust than you're used to. Our climate and salting practices are about as bad as it can get for rust.

Weird that the dealer didn't put any interior photos up.

If Gurgie can't take a look, I can swing by.

Unfortunately, manual Foresters are hard to come by, hence why we're looking at this one.  There's a 2015 in Winnipeg, but it's got some rust starting on the inside of the door that I wasn't a fan of. 

I DID find a nice local Crosstrek within her budget that I'll try to convince her to drive.

The interior is so dirty you'd think it's a 2002, not a 2022!

^^ Yup. You'd think a dealer let alone a private seller  would clean up the vehicle  a bit before selling. It really shows how a vehicle was  treated over it' life.
I 've been searching compact trucks lately. Some adds show the vehicle in a car wash or covered in mud with disgusting interiors. I don't even click on those.
