His BMW i3 is surely a fun car to drive, but the 2014 i3 has ~18kWh of storage, almost the same battery capacity as my Smart ED.
I rarely go 100 km in my Smart ED, but did so on Friday, coming home with "low battery" warning on the dash indicator.
The i3 is one of the most efficient EV's on the market, but the battery capacity of the first model years was small for sure.
The newer i3 with larger battery pack (almost double the capacity) gets a true 200 km range.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_i3$900/mo .. wow. No words. Even a used i3 goes for $30K ... which makes no sense when you can get an e-Golf, Ionic or other competitor with larger battery for $25K new (with Ontario rebate of course).
