Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

Well if EVs are the future, it will never be too late...new EVs will be released as often as new autos.

VW is not defining the future, they are just adapting to it. There would be no such van planned if it wasn't for ever tightening EU emission standards.
Tesla's model Y will beat it to market by a couple of years.

I'm not convinced by that at all. They'd have to really ramp into it for 2018 to have it ready for 2020 as you claim. And with all the resources the Model 3 is going to demand to ensure delivery, I'm not sure it's very likely.

Musk has recently said the Model Y will use the 3 underpinnings. So, it's like putting lipstick on a p very handsome animal.

Yea, production reality has punched him in the face...hard.  He swore up and down for the longest time that the Y would be a separate platform..different from the S, different from the X, different from the 3.

Yeah, those FLO CHAdeMO / CCS stations have been popping up all over the place over here.   A lot of the St. Hubert BBQ's and Quebec government-run roadside stops have one but at $10/hr they aren't cheap.

Supposedly the more expensive chargers at $10/hr will allow a compatible EV to go from low charge to 80% in ~30 minutes.

Unfortunately around here there's usually 1-2 of those per location and there's usually a Tesla or two camped there for hours on end.

That is pretty cheap than, that would :censor: me off , to see a car just sit there after it is charged, it bad enough when someone leaves their car at a pump and than goes and buys a coffee

Since I assume a credit card transaction, the second hour should be a 100 bucks, the third 500 and so on  :P

Good news about the fast chargers though. They are the ones we need to make a law every gas station should have.

yeah that should be the case - if you are hogging the charger after your car is fully charged, you get billed HUGE - like overage charges for internet, phone, library, etc. Kill their wallet for being asshats.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Looks like the old SBC swap for corner-lot Jags is on the way out. Jaguar designed an electric powertrain that's a straight replacement for its in-line sixes.
