^^ That is admittedly pretty cute, but ten seconds of YouTube video is plenty for me, thanks. Dogs are like kids, IMO: best to be seen and not heard.
We’re going to pick up a Lab puppy this afternoon. He’ll be our fourth, and hopefully as quiet as all the rest have been. Pics may follow.
They have a howl session just about every day, it's only for a few seconds though. At least they aren't crazy barkers like a lot of shelties and will usually shut up when told to.
Congrats on the new pupper. Buster looks like he's set up for a great life.
Thanks! The howling thing is actually pretty cool. I remember one day a few years ago, completely out of nowhere, Bajoue sat down in the middle of the living room and started howling. Never did it before and hasn’t done it since. Only lasted about ten seconds and that was it.
Would be neat if he’d do it again (occasionally
)
Really weird story with Buster. We were on the breeder’s list for a puppy, but weren’t expecting one until next spring or summer. Got a call on Monday night from the breeder to tell us that the owner of one of the puppies that was placed a month ago wants to give him back. Owner said he was vicious, aggressive and wouldn’t stop biting.
Not the greatest sales pitch, but she assured us the puppy seems fine to her. Timing is perfect for us, so we said we’d give it a try.
Been three days now with Buster, and he’s an angel. Typical Lab puppy (maybe all puppies?) so yeah, he’s got tiny little shark teeth and is constantly looking for something to chomp on. Just give him a chew toy and he’s good, but sure, watch your fingers! Not an ounce of aggression in him and he’ll stop right away when you say No!
And of course, he’s a little terror when playing with our older dog. Lots of little growls and nipping at the old guy’s neck, but it’s all normal puppy play. I guess it looks aggressive if you’d never seen it before? Anyway, we feel super lucky to have him.
And Enzo is looking fine as well! Love the one ear up, one ear down look!
