Super cool map - avg insurance rate by postal code FSA

Mississauga / Brampton / Vaughan are the most expensive areas. This matches my anecdotal observations of driving behaviour in these areas. GTA West is curmudgeonly aggressive or careless, whereas York region is mostly just "uninterested" and lethargic. The city itself is a bit harder to generalize.

Interesting!

At first I thought it might be related to average cost of vehicle owned, but then why the hell is Oakville that much lower than surrounding areas?

It says for my area $1070 and ask for a quote.  :rofl2:

Geeezzzz, maybe I should. I'm paying $700 a year on one vehicle and $500 on the other. because they require separate companies/policies. No complaints then.  lol.

Driving style and insurance fraud would be my guess.

My area's average is $1061 - pretty dead on for me - I pay around $1100/year.

interesting as trend data, but too many variables to be accurate... my area says  $1.6 to $2.2K...  on my group plan through The Personal I am paying $1.3K for coverage on both vehicles...

^ I think its standardized to a 35 year old single male driving a Civic or something. Read that somewhere in a news story.

I think the algorithm also factors in the theft rates for the areas.  Agree that these numbers are probably based on someone much younger driving a high-theft vehicle.  I'm supposed to be in the $1700 area, but I pay $1200.
