The Base S trim seems like the sweet spot, assuming those are the only differences.  While Android Auto's omission on the base trim is unfortunate, it certainly isn't worth $3,500.

The SV would be my choice.

Mine too...
What about the SV makes it worth $3,500 over the base?  Android Auto/Apple Carplay?

The pro-pilot probably is the main element, 17" wheels and telematics too.

To be able to start preheating your car in the winter from your phone is a great feature. I don't care all that much for Pro-Pilot but I sure did love the telematic function when I had a Leaf.

Imagine, you're skiing on a very cold day and on your last ride up the chair-lift you start pre-heating the car. You come to the car 15-20 minutes later and it is all warmed up. Nice!  :D

And since it works trough the 3G networks, you can still do it from wherever you are located.

...assuming your Leaf is plugged in at the ski hill.

Or you could replace the ski hill situation with any cold winter morning at home before your commute to work when your car would definitely be plugged in.

No, no need to be plugged in. As long as you have enough battery capacity it will work plugged in or not. I did it a few times myself.

Yes, at home in winter I would always start up the heat while having breakfast. Windows were always clear of fog, snow, ice and the car was toasty climbing in, and still at 100% or so full charge. The feature also pre-heat the seats and the steering wheel. Really nice; worth the price to get the SV.

Good on Nissan for the big improvements in the 2018 Leaf!

I wouldn't buy an EV without the remote cabin pre-conditioning.
Have it in the Tesla, super convenient.
My 2013 Smart ED has this as well, but only pre-conditions when plugged in, which is still super nice on cold winter mornings!

The 2018 Smart ED has this as well, but I don't have the manual yet (looking to purchase next month) to determine if it can pre-condition without being plugged in.

I haven't looked at MSRP and rebates for this in 2018.

Changed or the same?
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

My wife told me to put a deposit down for one so I did. She looked at the specs and she said the S would suffice.

Neat!

Any idea when they start arriving for your test drive??

Great choice
Out of curiosity, did she test drive the current Leaf?
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

A nice feature is that the included charger is compatible for both 120/240V.

What kind of socket is required for the 240v plug?

A NEMA 14-50 good for 16 amps. An adapter is also included to plug in a NEMA 5-15, 12 Amps max.

Meanwhile, to help you with the wait..

Thanks. I'll need to look at what plug is on my welder (bought long ago but never used). If it's the same socket it could be useful to wire one into the garage, some day.

a Japanese Leaf 2.0 real world test drive. A little amateur perhaps but the review shows many interesting bits and quirks. Oh, and try to concentrate on the car, not the presenter  :shake:  :P
