RAV4 engine fires
« on: November 03, 2023, 09:34:12 pm »
Quote
The recall covers certain RAV4s from the 2013 through 2018 model years. Toyota said that some replacement batteries used in the SUVs have smaller top dimensions than other batteries. If the hold-down clamp is not tightened properly, the battery could move during hard cornering, allowing the positive terminal to contact the clamp and short circuit.

Not sure we can call this « engine fires ». A loose 12V battery that causes a short and then a fire. « Engine compartment fire 🔥 »  maybe?

Fake news.  All Toyotas are always perfect 100 per cent of the time.  This is known.    :rofl2:
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

Easier than the ease with which a Hyundai catches fire, or has debris lodge in a crank bearing?

Toyota clearly needs to work much harder to get their fire recall numbers up to Hyundai levels.

The Toyota recall is for a battery hold down issue? Can't people do anything?

Hard to make everything dummy proof. Maybe the new battery hold down clamp will totally be made out of plastic
