This is mine. She is a 9 year old, 70 lb mutt, but thought to be a Presa Canario blend. Personally, I think there is a lot of Lab in her too. Her latest trick this winter is I have rabbits that have taken up residence in the backyard and every morning she goes out and eats their droppings. Maybe I'm not feeding her enough!  :rofl2:

Wow, a big boy indeed!  Great looking dog!

Thanks blur, I never knew about that website.

I have had tremendous success through Petfinder. Through them I found all my dogs including this gorgeous lady after she was in the shelter for over 16 months...miss her  :'(

Very cute pup!  I'm a big fan of Petfinder as well.  My previous dog, which was a Duck Toller came from Petfinder.  Drove 5 hours each way to go pick her up.  My Daughter and I were set on a Golden Retriever this time around, and sadly I couldn't find a single one on Petfinder.

Thanks!

When he looks at me with his big, brown eyes while receiving a belly rub, I just melt.

Blur, does your vet offer any rehabilitation (e.g., physical therapy) or sports medicine services?  Bella looks to be a prime candidate.  As with people, rehabilitation exercises can make a huge difference in some cases (depending on the specific type of injury, of course).

Most vet clinics don't offer this (yet), but you might want to ask your vet about it (especially if she isn't getting better after the splinting). Or you could PM me your location I might be able to find you a clinic offering this.

I don't think there are any of those services in the area, I'm in Kingston, Ontario.   Maybe Alta Vista in Ottawa.
I'm going to the vet later today, I'll ask.

Hey Blur, missed this yesterday - just looked quickly, but some arthritis on her left lateral carpal (wrist) bones?  Did your vet find any bone fragments or chips in there?  Any soft tissue (tendon / ligament) damage noted?

It's actually her right which is giving the trouble, nothing in the bones seem bad, but as you can see there is some soft-tissue swelling on the inside.   He never mentioned bone chips or any definite soft-tissue damage, but did see something on this x-ray that looked "powdery" on the front of her wrist bones.  http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l43/blur911/baddogs/dec%2020%202016_2.jpg  , hard to see anything in this photo, but it was more obvious when he showed it to us on their equipment where you could zoom in and adjust the contrast.

After the splint came off a couple of days later I noticed a small scab on the part that was swollen, which didn't look like it was caused by anything rubbing or in the splint, so we were wondering if there was a foreign body of some sort in there which worked its way out.

The swelling has gone down significantly in the last few days and she's limping a lot less.
Saw our vet yesterday and we're going to leave it for another 10 days or so and reassess as she seems to be on the mend.  There is a veterinary physiotherapy clinic in Kingston, that might be our next stop if things don't improve enough.

Thanks for your insight.

Please meet the new addition to our household. I've heard people say that taking care of a puppy is almost as exhausting as an infant. Now i understand.

Such a sweet little face!  Name?

And yep... I felt the same way raising Miss Daisy many years ago.  Cannot take your eyes off them for a second.  If they're not peeing, they're chewing.  If they're not chewing, they're chasing squirrels.  If they're not chasing squirrels, they're eating dead frog jerky off the road, or rolling in raccoon sh*t, or pulling all the toilet paper off the roll, or eating the cat's poop in the litter box, or tipping over the garbage...   :rofl2:

Very cute!

Don't worry about the exhaustion, you'll be able to relax in a year or two. Just when I think ours has finally settled down, I'll come home to find a house plant dug up or another sofa cushion torn. :rofl2:

We've named him Ralph.... Although after the past 8 weeks I can think of a few other choice names that would be a better fit.  ;D

All things considered, he has been pretty good thus far with the exception of those razor like puppy teeth. We have no idea about breed as he was a rescue puppy from a local lady who adopted his mom from the SPCA only to get a surprise  6 weeks later when she had 5 puppies.

Beautiful puppy Flinter.  What breed?  And yeah, puppies are a ton of fun, but also a ton of work.  So very worth it though.

I was out delivering kegs late this afternoon and came home to Abbey sitting oddly on the chair with a look on her face that she did something bad.  lol

I started cooking supper and then about an hour or so later I noticed why.  This used to be a six foot high Japanese Flowering Maple.  She chewed off virtually every single branch.  Not sure if it will rebound back or not.  Sheesh.   ;D
