Looks clean and the price doesn’t seem out to lunch.  Hope you love it and get a deal.

Timing belt due, a/c facked, rear bumper cracked, and body rust. Doesn’t seem like your type of vehicle KTM. You going to look because you think it’s cool or what’s the motive?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Any interest in a black '04 GX470? I have one that came in on trade; one owner and the frame's got a bit of rust underneath but it's been Krown'd every year. Have service records for its entire life. Thing has DVD, three rows, replaced air ride, and overall really good nick.

In a choice between GX and LX? LX all the way...

1) This unit will have to have minimal corrosion to get anywhere. If it passes that test:
2) Service history. I have a feeling documentation is lacking. That will be a negotiating point.

Issues:
Timing belt $1500
Tires $1500
Other?:

Rear A/C is interesting. Is this not simply additional lines running from the front? There is not a separate compressor is there? If the front works then I can't see getting the rear to work being much of a deal. Perhaps it leaks and it has been blanked off.

This may be a fun 1-2 year project that can become a backwoods cruiser if it proves reliable.

So as a start my offer will be $3000k less than ask to begin with. This reduction may increase depending what is found. Around $6k this becomes a project. Lets see if it speaks to me. It may drive like a steaming pile.

I totally dig it.  That's a lot of years and a lot of miles, but if it checks out I can't imagine you'd be less than very happy with it.

They drive surprisingly well. I also thought they'd be REALLY clattery due to the full frame and general lack of finesse, but the last few I've piloted are surprisingly composed and smooth.

Just sold a '13 GX Executive to a member on this forum and I spent a couple of days with it - it made a STRONG case for me to swap my LS460 out, but in the end I opted to keep the stupid, stupid Touareg.

I had to block off the rear A/C on our Suburban. Very easy. And when it DID work the kids constantly complained it was too cold. We found the dash a/c was more than enough.

If I wasn't on a LX hunt I would consider it. That being said BC is the land of rust free creampuffs.

Usually most of the LX are priced out to lunch, this one seams nice but would be worth having couple picture of the frame underneath...

Cold reality on these: gas pigs. Durable but inefficient engine dragging around a heavy vehicle with a 4 speed transmission = gas pig.

This thing is being sold for a friend who has left the country so the antennae are waaay up.  Also the guy is a detailer so of course he has polished a turd here.  ;D  I suspect it will have little/no service history. That being said it is hard to hide things like how it drives. It has been cared for that will immediately become evident. If it has been run hard and put away wet that becomes clear very quick.

I actually prefer the LX450 because I think(?) Lexus dropped the front locker on the 470.

yeah...  If it gets that far we will see what a lien check says and if the vin plate looks original and matches the other numbers.... Either way lots of points here to grind the price down and I am a methodical old man with no emotion lol.

Looks like a reasonably clean example of a pretty rare truck. I think it depends on what you're looking to do with it...Would it be a toy / occasional use? A replacement for something in the fleet?

IMO, it's expensive for what it is, and a lot of that is the cost of the Toyota/Lexus reputation. One could probably find a comparable rust-free high-kms BC GMT800 for half the price, that'll be more modern, more capable, just as reliable, easier to service, and with way better parts availability.
